Well, I can tell you I'm working on a fan trailer for a Kelvin Timeline movie, but that's all I can offer...heh.
But I still have (a little) hope that we haven’t seen the last of the Kelvinverse...
Star Trek must end.
Bad Robot has nothing to do with the lack of a 4th film, it's because of Paramount trying to go cheap and losing their bankable stars. There was a director, a script, and a cast. If they had done things right we could have been looking forward to a Star Trek movie next year.On the bright side maybe that means Paramount will contract with someone else to continue making Star Trek movies. It's the gem in their crown, even if they haven't figured out how to sell it properly. Or barring that, maybe they'll just sell the franchise back to CBS if they're not going to use it, anyway.
I'm no expert but I don't believe that's how the rights work with Star Trek. This isn't a Sony and Spider-man situation.I would assume they have to produce something within a certain amount of time or it will revert back to CBS and I doubt they would want that.
The problem was even if they had done things right, there was no reason to think there would be much interest in the film compared to Beyond. The actors are all now in bigger productions and rightly expect to be paid better, but Star Trek hasn't been the money winner Paramount was hoping it would be. Best to start over.Bad Robot has nothing to do with the lack of a 4th film, it's because of Paramount trying to go cheap and losing their bankable stars. There was a director, a script, and a cast. What I wonder now is how long before Paramount does something with the license again. I would assume they have to produce something within a certain amount of time or it will revert back to CBS and I doubt they would want that.
I need more action figures!Hmmm... All this discussion has made me ravenous for another Kelvinverse movie!
So much so, I’ve started pulling out my STID hot wheels starships and zooming them around, in the hope of somehow willing another movie into existence - as illogical as that paytently is!![]()
The JJ films changed the way we talk about Trek.
I understand that's sad news to some of you, but for others it's great. If there's never another JJTrek movie, it will be too soon.
I was happy when Enterprise ended. I'm happy that JJTrek has ended. and I'll be happy when Discovery ends.
I'll be sad when we get some real Star Trek that ends.
Yeah, I have no idea about the specifics of the agreement between the two companies. It was just a bit of hearsay I picked up a while back that seemed to make sense.I'm no expert but I don't believe that's how the rights work with Star Trek. This isn't a Sony and Spider-man situation.
The only thing I have managed to note for certain regarding the division of Star Trek rights is that it is complicated. There does not appear to be any reversion of rights clause at play.Yeah, I have no idea about the specifics of the agreement between the two companies. How can you hate Enterprise? I thought they did a really good job setting up the beginning of the Federation era.
Star Trek: 2029I thought they'd do four of them. But at least they have a trilogy.
Looking forward to Quentin Tarantino's Star Trek film in 2020-Something.
from fan fict sect https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/star-trek-5-2022.286283/Maybe the 4th movie will come in 10+ years, when the cast has aged to the point of TWOK, and we have a new reflection on aging and their sense of place in the altered timeline.
