A lot of you are talking about the #Babylon5 news. A reboot is in the works with JMS at the helm. Joe has been in touch with a bunch of us and let us know he wants us in the show. No deals have been made. We have no idea what is in the script, or what the focus of the new show would be. He will reveal that when he is ready! You should check out his twitter. I am sure he will let you know what he can, when he can.

The show has immense rewatch value, though, and sold incredibly well on DVD, largely among people who had already seen it and remembered the big answers. So even if a lot of the big stroke plot developments are maintained, I don't see this as a hindrance to its popularity. (I also can't imagine my personal experience will compare to watching the original the first time back in the day, but I was also a teenager back then, so ... )
Honestly, despite the cheese factor that whole era of serialized or semi-serialized low-ish budget genre shows (TNG, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Twin Peaks, Babylon 5, Xena: Warrior Princess, the good episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Farscape) really, really holds up. Bonus points if you include the animated shows of the era like Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: TAS/Justice League/JLU (Let's be honest. The three of them are really one ongoing show.) and Gargoyles.

This is not a continuation of the OG series.
JMS makes that crystal-clear in his comments on it via Twitter.
I'm not sure what roles he might find for the surviving OG cast, but they'd most likely be bit parts at best.

Means Vir as Indian too.
Hispanic as Garabaldi? ( half irish)

Yuliya Singer would be nice. But maybe to old. Ivonova was late 20s .

I guess that jms might go back to original concepts. Sinclair for longer before Sheridan replaces him, Takeshima as second in command until she leaves and Ivanova replaces her, and so on.
^ We already know that Sinclair isn't going to be part of the reboot....

All indications are that there are two projects, and at this point it seems like the one that involves animation and the one that involves the original cast are the same one, and the CW remake is the other one.
This doesn't appear to be the case at all.
Both Claudia Christian and Patricia Tallman have now commented on the announcement of the reboot and indicated that they expect to be involved with it in some capacity yet to be determined, and JMS made it clear in his comments on the reboot that a continuation of the OG series would not have been satisfying without the actors who have "passed beyond the Rim".
I can't personally conceive of any roles that the surviving OG cast could play, but it's becoming increasingly more clear that JMS wants them involved in some capacity as he reboots B5 from scratch.

We only know that the focus character/commander of the station will be Sheridan. Other than that. Speculation? If there is a Sinclair....would he still be tied to Valen? Or would the arcs follow the older plot where Babylon 4 replaces Babylon 5 after the Shadow War begins? (The Babylon Prime story or whatever it was called) Thus making Valen's backstory sort of irrelevant other than being a major lore character for the Minbari.
In the original series, both Sinclair and Sheridan ascend to godhood - Sinclair's apotheosis is to become Valen and Sheridan is resurrected from death and eventually taken beyond the Rim (no sniggering at the back there) like Frodo and Bilbo to the Undying Lands in Lord of the Rings. I suspect JMS would contrive to retain strong religious imagery unless he has lately vowed to eschew such devices. I can't really think how you can have one character do both nor which is the better path. Perhaps there's a third way?
One thing to keep in mind when dreaming about casting is that while the budget will be astronomical compared to the budget of the original show (somewhat offset by inflation, but also you can do so much more with so much less in the FX department now), it's still not going to be huge. So odds are most of the cast will be people we've never, or barely, heard of. There aren't going to be the funds for a star-studded cast.
JMS' comments about the reboot are a signal to me that all existing B5 fans should forget everything they think they know about the story because the reboot is almost 100% guaranteed to be different.
