One would think that (especially since it was explicitly said by Zathras that Babylon 4 was the biggest), but the Babylon Station in ITB looked somewhere between "considerably" and "insanely" bigger that B4, thanks to parts of the B4 and B5 models being rescaled to kitbash a different design.
Maybe we can just chalk it up to an inaccuracy in the ISN holo-documentary. And maybe we can say that for the differences in "The Gathering" too. ISN just flubbed on the accuracy.

That could also apply to EarthForce's inconsistent rank system...yet another thing that ISN screwed up.
About that, though: Is the "holo-documentary" angle, intended to apply to Crusade as well?
It's possible since JMS intended for the Babylon 5 to be a future history. Or maybe it's a holo-mini series dramatization, like War and Remembrance .
I am doing a re-watch on iTunes. I know that the effects would be to expensive to redo in HD but what was the live action shot on? could that be rescanned in HD? I know it would be a little jarring to go from HD to SD but I wonder if that is possible.
I'm watching the DVDs, which went back to the original footage, shot on 35mm film for live action widescreen , which splices in the NTSC video effects shots, cropped down to widescreen. The change between full PAL resolution to video quality effects is jarring enough in SD, it'll be totally unworkable in HD. The effects would have to be redone.
Does all the film even still exist and what state is it in? I believe the digital assets were lost in a fire but would be probably have to be redone anyway. I doubt WB would pony up the $20 million + to create the new FX, re-edit and re-render as HD. (A figure I base on estimates for each of Voyager and DS9, which used a greater proportion of model to CGI shots and had more episodes per season but no TV movies.) In any case, it's been claimed WB never made any profit from the series through either broadcast or DVD sales.
Wasn't The Lost Tales filmed in HD, effects included?
A pity it was mediocre. The CGI models should still exist for it I guess.

Happy 24th Anniversary of the first airing of "The Gathering" in 1993. I missed it but watched the show from the very first episode.
BTW, it's worth mentioning that if anybody is interested in there being a cast reunion con like there was in Phoenix and Galveston for the 20th anniversary, the time to contact your favorite convention to ask for one is now. That sort of thing takes a lot of planning and the cons need to know that there's interest from lots of fans.

Why was it omitted? IMO, there's no sense getting invested in the characters without that one.
