Avery Brooks to return as Sisko?

If Avery Brooks does return (hopefully but perhaps unlikely), I'd like to suggest Andre Braugher as a cast member. He could be Captain Charlie Reynolds. Brooks and Braugher were Othello and Iago on stage together years ago.

I know it kind of goes under the radar, but I think it needs to be said because this is an important time we're living in where we're becoming very socially aware of the types of things that are regressive in society, things that are racial, sexual and all kinds of revolutions we are having in thought and acceptance of people."

On the topic of Avery's career, was he even contacted at all for the recent Spencer and Hawk reboot (where Black Panther actor Winston Duke took on the role of Hawk)?
All my Christmases would come at once if we got some kind of follow up to DS9. Even just a mini-series. I feel DS9 has been unfairly neglected by the current output, even though we’ve had a sequel to TNG and the return of two Voyager characters. DS9 has barely been acknowledged, even though the events of its seven seasons ought to have affected the Trek universe forevermore.
I will keep my fingers crossed, I really will. But I won’t get my hopes up. I was used to DS9 being treated like the invisible, unloved middle child in the 90’s during its run, and I don’t feel like this has changed, in spite of revised fan opinion.

DS9 told audiences uncomfortable truths that they didn't like to hear. It reminds me of the Star Wars prequels in a way (it's unsettling how some of the events in even the Phantom Menace parallel current real life news).
You need a really good reason to bring the character of Sisko back. The books did bring him back, but they still fell flat, he was Jesus to the Bajoran people. If he came back it would have to be for a spectacular reason. I don't feel the writers of STD and PIC are up to it.
I have a feeling if Sisko were brought back, Avery would demand more writing power and basically turn Sisko into Avery Brooks, a jazz and arts man etc. I think he did the same thing to Hawk in the short lived Hawk show: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Man_Called_Hawk
While Shatner and Stewart over the course of their shows (although with Shatner this happened more in the movies) basically developed Kirk and Picard into extensions of their real life selves, I don't get the impression that really happened with Brooks in regards to Sisko even over the 7 years of DS9. From everything I've read about Brooks, he's very different from Sisko personality-wise.

Cirroc starts to talk about Avery about 20 minutes in. He makes a good point: why are Shatner and Stewart, Mulgrew and Bakula all still prominent and Brooks is not? Brooks has obviously been unfairly treated by Hollywood and I think it is clear it is because he isn't white. That shocks me. I know with everything that has happened recently I shouldn't be but it does.
How is it obvious? I mean Brooks hasn't actually accepted an acting job since, what, 2001? His IMDB says he narrated a bible tv show in 2004 and did some Sisko voice work for a Trek game in 2006. The next credit after that is 2020. Mulgrew's career wasn't great in between Voyager ending and 2011, but because she kept taking roles anyway she eventually got some good shows again in Warehouse 13 and Orange is the New Black. Shatner's career between Trek and the Practice is 90% Shatner pimping himself out to sci-fi nerds because people will pay to see captain Kirk - any of the other captains could probably have done the same if they had as little self-respect as Shatner. And Bakula basically maintained the same low-level super-generic career he'd already had before he became Archer. Honestly, the only one of the bunch who's actually had a consistent and constantly busy career is Stewart, who's easily one of the best actors Trek ever had.
Now if Brooks gave up on acting because people were refusing to offer him anything even remotely decent at all, then sure, Hollywood treated him wrong. But that's information for him to share if he wants, not something I'm just going to assume because hey, it must be the only explanation for why he hasn't done anything.

Well, I'm obviously biased but I do want this to happen. If "The Mandalorian" can resurrect/bring back tons of old characters and we currently have Star Trek: PIC (24th/25th century era) going on - there is no real reason this could not happen. The only thing is if Avery Brooks does not want to return. I don't really see any interviews from him on his opinion on returning as Sisko sadly. If the source was some "insider" - I would have taken it with a grain of salt. However, Cirroc is a good source considering how close he is to Avery in real life.
With Star Trek going through it's own "renaissance" - I have no doubt that the Trek alum from TNG, VOY, DS9, and ENT are all at least wondering if they will get a call. I'm not saying they all would want to return, but surely the thought has crossed through some of their heads. Now if it crossed through Brooks' head is the real question.
I honestly do grow tired of the whole "Let's pretend DS9 didn't happen" attitude from the big wigs. Yes, I get it. It wasn't as popular as TOS/TNG. However, it mirrored modern (for the times) politics so beautifully well compared to the other Treks. It went to some dark places and modern politics would give DS9 - style writing so much to work with. I don't think the entire DS9 cast would return or a full on show dedicated to Sisko is likely to happen.
Personally? I think it'd be nice of Ben, Jake, and Kassidy got some closure in maybe a short t.v. film or a one season series. But I have a feeling even that is asking for too much. :/
