It was working for me last night in that kind of Veep cringy, awkward, mean humor.
I don't think this is the right show for you.I find shows where everything everyone does is clearly headed for a train wreck laborious to watch.
If the show never lets any character accomplish one small thing I think I’m done with it soon if not already.
Or, give me something, anything other than “Haha incompetence make things go bad”. Bureaucratic satire. Irony. Likable characters getting into hijinks. Relationship drama. The engineer stops life support from going down at the last second. Something, anything that gives me a lightening change of pace.
I'm good with Hugh Laurie and Suzy Nakamura. However, the person or persons who are responsible for Josh Gad's continuing appearances in the media should be hinted down and severely punished. Severely!Hugh Laurie, unsurprisingly, stands out the most but Suzy Nakamura, Lenora Crichlow, and Josh Gad were all terrific.
Herman Judd is absolutely my favorite character on the show. I love idiots.I'm good with Hugh Laurie and Suzy Nakamura. However, the person or persons who are responsible for Josh Gad's continuing appearances in the media should be hinted down and severely punished. Severely!
Heh, Olaf was the only thing I liked about Frozen the first time I watched it, which is especially funny considering I thought I was going to hate the character.I'm good with Hugh Laurie and Suzy Nakamura. However, the person or persons who are responsible for Josh Gad's continuing appearances in the media should be hinted down and severely punished. Severely!
Yeah, that's definitely a unique way to resolve a conflict, especially a relationship one while confined to a ship for the unforeseeable future. If my boss could have had my office decorated with a word cloud of everything I've ever done wrong, he would have.![]()
Ep 4. A lot of dark humor. Literally.
There is, Billie (Lenora Crichlow), & I think she's a wonderful choice. The premise is more than just incompetent people. The premise is people currently being incompetent, & the journey they're going to have to take to get where they need to be, in order to make this work. There are people there who know how to get things done. They just aren't in position to do that yet. I'm looking at you, Ethan Phillips.Episode 2 makes me pessimistic for the series. There needs to be at least one likable character so it’s not just “Everyone is incompetent and obnoxious” jokes.
Exactly my point. I knew the minute they announced a 3 year voyage to get home, that she'd end up becoming the most important character for controlling the situation. If the show has any legs, she'll probably end up the chief admin officer of the whole Judd corporation. Either her or Judd's assistant, who is also adept, while equally unfulfilled... or some combination of them bothMaking Karen the new crew liaison officer is probably the smartest thing Ryan has ever done and she has already proven her capability in that new role when she cleverly sold the new projected trajectory length by blowing up the estimate and slowly walking it back as if she had any control in the estimate.
