looking forward to this - Armando Iannucci is generally pretty reliable.
Oh, Captain House...
OK so someone made a film about the Golgafrincham B Ark?
I keep expecting the TARDIS to materialize while watching the Trailer.
I've been looking forward to this show for awhile now so it's good to finally have a proper trailer and release date. It looks like a lot of fun and Hugh Laurie is always a riot. Plus, Suzy Nakamura, who I've been a fan of since The West Wing!
I hadn't heard about that before, it looks like fun.
Looks like something I'll watch.
Looks like Gabe/Jared plays the same character a third time.
Love Hugh Laurie, but one has to assume that there's a lot more to this than comes across in the trailer or else HBO wouldn't have spent good money on it.
Reminds me of the Futurama Titanic episode where Zap Brannigan is the captain.
Zapp wishes he had one hundredth of the awesomeness and competence of Hugh Laurie!
That's was my thoughts too. It's got the atmosphere of a doctor who episode(Not unlike Voyage of the Damned)
The reviews are... mixed...
I say meh to the reviews.
I loved it. Hugh Laurie, unsurprisingly, stands out the most but Suzy Nakamura, Lenora Crichlow, and Josh Gad were all terrific. Their meeting during the last quarter of the episode was especially fun.
I'm not terribly enthralled by the two couples but I see the idea behind them, so I'm willing to give them a chance to improve.
The first episode was mildly amusing; I can't say hubby or I laughed much but we smiled and maybe chuckled once or twice. We'll probably watch the rest.
The reviews I read mostly go along the lines that it takes a few episodes to get going and make sense. Hopefully by the end of the season we'll be wishing for more.
I'm thanking The Orville for this show getting made!
Oh, this already started? Need to see it, is it in the Sunday slot?
Hugh Laurie has the same mannerisms and accent in this show as House.
It’s like House when he’s pretending to be nice.
Once you watch the show, you'll see that some of what you just said is not accurate.
