looking forward to this - Armando Iannucci is generally pretty reliable.

I've been looking forward to this show for awhile now so it's good to finally have a proper trailer and release date. It looks like a lot of fun and Hugh Laurie is always a riot. Plus, Suzy Nakamura, who I've been a fan of since The West Wing!

Love Hugh Laurie, but one has to assume that there's a lot more to this than comes across in the trailer or else HBO wouldn't have spent good money on it.

Reminds me of the Futurama Titanic episode where Zap Brannigan is the captain.

I say meh to the reviews.

I loved it. Hugh Laurie, unsurprisingly, stands out the most but Suzy Nakamura, Lenora Crichlow, and Josh Gad were all terrific. Their meeting during the last quarter of the episode was especially fun.

I'm not terribly enthralled by the two couples but I see the idea behind them, so I'm willing to give them a chance to improve.

The first episode was mildly amusing; I can't say hubby or I laughed much but we smiled and maybe chuckled once or twice. We'll probably watch the rest.

The reviews I read mostly go along the lines that it takes a few episodes to get going and make sense. Hopefully by the end of the season we'll be wishing for more.

I'm thanking The Orville for this show getting made!
