^ Oh dear god he just spoke ill of Robau...

(Falls prostrate on floor)

AVE CAPUT ROBAU MAXIMUS!!!

(Gets back up)

I would welcome more Aventine books, I am hoping they will feature in David Mack's next trilogy

Absolutely--and here's hoping he continues the arc of the Sarina-Julian-Ezri triangle, and Sarina's dirt-under-the-fingernails, if ya know what I mean....

(Here's hoping Julian finds out--and reacts...in character....):mallory:

Oh Rushbo... The incurable romantic. Well, I gotta admit. I'm a fan of the spy love-triangle myself, lol.

Something tells me that by the time Julian finds out, he'll be to in too deep. (And god knows that's not a pun.)

Indeed. It seems, I have bad luck with puns... Oh, well. Blame my dirty thoughts on my fiancee who took a three month trip to Germany, leaving me all alone...

I believe that an Aventine series would be too much. With so many book series already out there developing another one might be going to the well one to many times. Plus why divert the creative efforts of the authors more than it already is? I'd rather read about Deep Space Nine and what happened in the missing five years between Soul Key and the Typhon Pact series than what's going on with Aventine. Add to that, in my opinion of course, that Ezri and Sam Bowers are kind of weak to carry a series on their own. They should go back to being what they were. Part of the ensemble of Deep Space Nine.

I'm kinda hoping that somewhere along the line the Aventine might be assigned to DS9, that way we can have Ezri and Sam back in the series, and we don't lose the new Aventine characters.

^ That'd be cool. Maybe a dedicated Gamma explorer, follow up and expand on some of the stuff from Mission: Gamma?

Aventine needs its own novels!!!

I'm going to go ahead and say no. The crew is just not strong enough to support its own series, especially Dax and Bowers. After ZSG, I've grown to flat out hate Dax and Bowers is a non-entity. The rest of the crew is dull.

And the rules regarding slipstream have yet to be worked out, so that doesn't even really make anything about the Aventine "cool" except for its look.

I concur with the above post that I'd rather they use a slot to tell the Ascendant story.

Now that would be cool. Assigning the Aventine to DS9, maybe sending it on a mission through the wormhole into the Gamma Quadrant, would be a fun way to bring Ezri and Bowers back into the DS9 fold. There seems to be so much of the Gamma Quadrant to explore, and a Vesta-class ship could make the journey much faster with its slipstream drive.

Of course, I'd much rather have a trilogy of DS9 relaunch novels to cover the 5-year gap between The Soul Key and Rough Beasts of Empire first.

It seems like such a waste of a slipstream drive to send it through the wormhole...I dunno i'd rather they actually finished exploring the AQ!

Oh, I'd say Bowers and Ezri need quite a bit of characterization--so does Simon Tarses, to be honest. The sooner we see Kirk-Spock-Bones in Ezri-Bowers-Tarses, the better. Pocket does that--and I'd say there'd be a LOT more support for an Aventine series!

[shameless_plug]Of course, in my tales in the FanFic forum, that's precisely what I'm doing....[/shameless_plug]

Well, I admit I'm a romantic about specific things--a cynical realist about most else. In this case...Ezri and Julian have been apart for far too long. It's damaging them inside--as that "dinner" scene in ZSG indicated.

Something tells me that by the time Julian finds out, he'll be in too deep. (And god knows that's not a pun.)

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Quite revealing....

I'm kinda the same. But i'm bit more cynical than the average. Then again, living in this town is hazardous to your world view.

Indeed, that scene made it quite clear. Although, "dinner"might be a bit pushing it.

I really didn't mean it to sound that dirty. Scout's honor.

I really disagree. If anything, that dinner showed how different they've both become. All of the Dax/Bashir interactions in ZSG were awkward.
