I hope it's Star Wars. I just saw Avengers, and you know what? Fuck that movie. Fuck it. Fuck that piece of shit gimmicky, no sense, ridiculous, pointless, illogical garbage. I have seldom been so angry about the so-called high point of a franchise. This movie is the equivalent of dangling car keys in front of a child and hoping the child doesn't notice that the world is on fire. It's three hours of dumb jokes and scenes that go on way too long glued together that don't add up to anything and that torpedo the entire damn plot. It was actually insulting, and their attempt at hand-waving their own bullshit is pathetic. How did this crap get good reviews? Good fucking grief.

...and this is coming from one of the most agreeable viewers in the world.

So yeah, I want Star Wars - a franchise run by people who don't think their viewers are morons - to win this race. By twelve parsecs (ha bloody ha).

I respect your opinion, @CommanderRaytas but you're gonna have to accept you're kind of in the minority here. Rotten Tomatoes has this film on 96% and even Metacritic rates it as "generally favourable". Mark Kermode (British film reviewer who is notorious for his rants about Star Wars, Marvel and DC) admitted it made him cry, twice.

As for Star Wars, I think Rian Johnson thinks we are morons, and his film has more or less ruined the new trilogy for me.

Thank you.Fair enough. Your opinion counts, and more power to you if you liked the movie. I don't give a crap about Rotten Tomatoes, though. What critics say means zilch to me. I honestly hated this thing, and I'm usually a bubbly fangirl. This franchise is dead to me.

Just wow. I thought infinity wars record was always more or less a given but to blast past it by an amount that would be considered a fantastic opening weekend is just preposterous. Surely TFAs domestic record is under threat here now unless it seriously dips.

Not only that, but if the film maintains a strong run for a couple of months, there's a good chance it'll reach Avatar's record.

Never seen anything like it. It's got to within 200m of age of ultrons total run in ONE weekend. Will it topple avatar? It has a decent chance, but I can see it falling just short. I think it has a better shot at TFAs domestic.

I want it to crush Avatar. I don’t know if anything actually can.

2.5 hours and I’ll finally be getting to see it!

Second weekend will tell. Endgame maybe me more front loaded than infinity war (more people wanting to see it asap, to avoid spoilers) so maybe shorter legs. We’ll see.

I can certainly see a significant drop in the second weekend. I imagine there will be a fair number of people who will watch a particular film and then go watch Endgame again in the theater. I'm definitely one of those people.

I mean Iron Man. That's going to be rough to watch again. The whole trilogy, too.

Damn, the Endgame numbers for this weekend are insane. Even though I voted for Rise of Skywalker, there is no way it's going to even come close to this kind of insanity.

Who would’ve thought that knowing the fate of a talking tree would have such a large crossover appeal?

That and seeing Thanos get an ass kicking.

If it wasn't for my wife and son, I wouldn't be anywhere near a theater this weekend. The Marvel films do nothing for me.
The Marvel ship sailed for me after first Avengers film.

Don't hold back-tell us how you really feel.

I enjoyed the first avengers film as it was the first of it's kind and was fresh and entertaining. The wheels fell off for me with age of ultron and iron man 3, both of which I thought were dreadful films. I walked out of the theatre saying 'I'm done with these movies' - but I was curious to see infinity war so I gave it a chance and thought the quality had been restored and then some with this. It is a simply outrageous blockbuster movie. I'm looking forward to watching endgame now.
