Avatar the Last Airbender Season 3 Discussion

The Female airbenders lived in the eastern and western air temples and the men lived in the northern and southern airtemples so i think its a miracle any hanky panky went on at all.

Try brushing up on what the word "nomad" means. ;) They didn't live permanently in any of the temples, but migrated seasonally among all four of them.
We all know what a "nomad" is. He/she was just making a humorous observation.;)

To be fair it was only semi-humorous ;)

I just saw the finale and I must say, this was a great show. It was funny and well written, better than a lot of live-actions shows I watch. The ending didn't disappoint either. I was wondering what they could do beyond giving us a lot of "shock and awe" in that final battle.

You know what else? I don't really need to see any movies or spinoffs. I'm happy to see it all end here. I loved everything so much that I'm having trouble imagining how they could top this. It feels like there can be no substitute. Of course, I'm on a high right now, so I don't know how I'll feel down the line.

I hope they release the whole series on DVD in one boxed set. I also can't wait to see what Shyamalan does with the material in his live-action trilogy.

I think the story ended effectively, but seeing other series in this same universe, maybe in different eras or with different characters, could be worthwhile. Certainly more series from the same creators would be great to see, in this universe or not.

And I'm dreading to see what Shyamalan does. His style is diametrically opposite to that of Avatar, and he hasn't made a good movie since Unbreakable.

I hope he leaves it the hell alone and focuses on creating a movie as close to the cartoon as humanly possible. Stick to creating the pretty pictures Shyamalan, I'm well beyond having much faith in any of the concepts you might try to introduce to the story.

Each Book is only a little over 400 minutes long in total, if you cut out some of the fluff and stand-alonestories it wouldn't be too hard to make a 160 minute long movie out of each one.

I know this is awfully late but am I the only one who noticed the similarities between Azula and Skrain Dukat?

Aside from the shall we say obvious similarities in personality, they both had similar things happen in their lives.

For a brief time they were both leaders of their respective nations under greater sovereigns. Azula lead the Fire Nation under the brief reign of Phoenix King Ozai and Dukat lead the Cardassian Union under the Founders.

And finally they snapped for similar reasons. Azula snapped one because people she trusted (Mai and Ty Lee) betrayed her, and two she saw her glorious victory and reign come to a complete and utter end when Katara healed Zuko. Which is analogous, to me anyways, of Dukat watching Corat Damar kill Ziyal and watching as Starfleet descended on Deep Space Nine. It just took longer for Azula to snap is all.
