They are like socks for tyres instead of chains
I only found out about them when i was researching chains. They look awesome for not getting stuck in the snow.
I swore after getting trapped down my stupid lane for 2 days last year and the year before because of heavy snow i wasn't going to let it happen again this year! Nobody will clear the lane or the roads around the village and the stupid lazy council won't even clear the roads to my village.
Last year someone died because the ambulance couldn't get through because they won't clear the roads.
The thing is though the main road outside the village was drivable, not completely clear but you could drive on it. But what is the point in having a clear road outside the village if no one can get to it because the roads in the village aren't clear?
I had a good laugh at my neighbours trying to drive up the lane though. I was watching from my window as they went forward about 1 foot then slid back about 10 feet
Then another idiot was trying to do the same about 5 minutes later. Eventually some people came out with shovels and got them moving.
Meanwhile another idiot was trying to get out of his parking space but certainly wasn't going anywhere as all that was happening was that his wheels where spinning
I wish i had known about the autosocks last year. I would have been able to get out then. I did google them to death and have read nothing but good reviews from people who have actually used them.
