At first, I didn't think the kidnap jokes were that funny, but they've grown on me, and they're interesting in their own way--although don't I clearly remember Plinkett being arrested at the end of the Phantom Menace review? What's up with that?
I can understand why others would be put off by those segments, and they're kinda scary sometimes, really.
The reviews themselves are ordinarily extremely perceptive, even if so in-depth they wind up extremely long, as well. Nevertheless, I very much enjoyed the point-by-point, practically second-by-second destruction of the prequels and TNG movies. They deserve it, and they're filled with enough awfulness and absurdity that reviews as long as RLM's are justified.
Then again, I'm pretty inured to feature-length excoriations of shitty media (your MST3K, your Spoony, and so on), and am also a poor time manager, so long reviews don't bother me.
