Art Asylum Enterprise-D Model

Does anyoe know how to paint the name on there? It'll only go on the top since the bottom does include the registry number, but I'm just not sure how to paint the name on there.

You can always name it either the USS Yamato or USS Odyssey.. They are as you know the sister ships of the Ent-D in the Star Trek universe.. The Yamato was seen in TNG series while the Odyssey was seen in the DS9 series. Sadly, both sister ships were also destroyed..

Not sure if anyone realized this, but I've just found out that if the button on the stardrive section is pressed deeper, all the lights will remain on till u press the button again. All these while, I thought we had to keep holding the button for all the lights to light up.. Plus, while all the lights are on, when u press the bridge button to hear the sound effects, the lights on the warp nacelles won't blink.. Also, while all the lights are on, when u separate the saucer section, the impulse drive on the saucer and the bridge will remain lighted. The only way for them to turn off is by connecting it back to the engineering/stardrive section.. Try it! I love it even more now!

Here's a link to a video I did showing this new feature I've only just found out about  >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL50PUplrM4

I have the most strangest Enterprise D, it didn't come with the name

Id repackage it and keep it. Some times with toys like this if there's a mistake that can really shoot up there value. Ya never know.

Just got mine today at a local comic book store. I haven't taken it out yet, but right away I would tell how good it was. :techman:

What he said.

I mean, prices for this are already Jacked up on eBay, and even though Im sure their being produced in bigger quantities than the NX-01 or Enterprise E, both of those go for much higher prices already. A rarefied version such as sure nameless D is sure to bring in a bigger buck a few years down the line.

The fact that its already out of packaging will hurt the value, but a careful repackage should present nicely.

Just got the AGT Version....All I can say is.

HOLY FLURKING SCHMIT. :D

This thing is IMMENSE. Huge, detailed and O-so-fun. Ive just finished taking a shitload of pretty pics of it, I know weve had enough, but I cant help it, and will be posting them later :P

Well done Art Asylum/DST, well done indeed :D

I was thinking serious about buying this, but the neck killed it. MAybe a second line run of this could correct the issue.

I hope a nice TNG Romulan Warbird -- with all the windows missing from the Playmates toy -- comes. And hell, if they're going to do that ugly three-nacled ship from "All Good Things...", then they shoudl do Beverly's U.S.S. Pasteur -- I love the way that ship looks.

My son got the E-D last month and I got the AGT ship yesterday. Both are incredibly detailed. The magnets that hold the saucer and drive section together are very strong. When you pull them apart, you hear the sound effects for saucer sep from the show. The E-D has a dozen or so sound effects and Picard sound bites while the AGT E-D has Adm. Riker's voice. They are waaay cool and worth the bucks.

Somehow, my stand issues have been resolved. Didn't really do anything special. Just kinda let it stand on its own after I messed around with it for awhile and....it's fine now. Has been for like a week or so. I don't get it, but I'm not complaining. And I'm not really showing anything anyone hasn't seen before, but just to throw in that the Ent-D really is beautiful (so is the Ent-E for that matter, I just wish it had the blacked-in windows). Can't wait for the Ent-B.

They only did the AGT because it was a kit bash of the 1701-D regular. To cut costs and the like. Same thing with the Ent-B and Excelsior thats coming up next, they realised no one was buying the battle damaged paint versions of ships, and so started to actually add extra modeling to them.

Going by that philosophy, the next best bet is probably a Negh'Var/Voodeh class Klingon Cruiser, or, seeing as the Negh'Var is just a modified Vor'Cha (A really heavily modified one), if they wanted to push the boat on extra pieces/vs cost of a new mold they MAY do a Vor'Cha/Negh'Var wave of ships.

Outside of that, the only things I can see them "saving money" on after that is a possible Nebula Class (they've already got the Galaxy Saucer), and a Centaur Class ship from the Excelsior components (even if it was only in one episode). Course, if they DO do a Centaur class ship, they need a Miranda Rollbar, which could then move into a full blown Miranda Class, where youve got the Reliant Variant and the Saratoga one. So options aplenty if AA/DST go that way.

Of course, if they DID make that long list of ships, it would be another 10 years away before we get them all, going on their previous track record of releases :p

Perhaps a strange question, but does anybody know how hard it is to remove the tubing details? Perhaps with some sandpaper? And fill in the recessed details? I realize some people will balk at this, but I'm not much concerned about authenticity as much as how such a ship could look it's utter best to my personal taste; I don't like beveled surfaces much. Especially if they look like tubing.

Well, im sitting about 3 ft away from it and I cant see the Tubing at all. Its only at a certain angle it really becomes visible.

As for sanding it? Well, good luck. Its over EVERY surface on the ship, and if you sand them, your gonna loose the Escape pod hatches too. Along with the paint job and all the windows because the "tubing" is *really* close to the main hull.
