Art Asylum Enterprise-D Model

The line of Enterprises is nice, but we need ENEMY SHIPS.

My refit requires a Reliant to face off with.

I want a Nebula-Class, in scale with the D. As for enemy ships, I want a Ferengi Marauder, and a frakking Negh'Var... don't just cheap out, and give us a black cube, with raised lines, and call it a Borg Cube.

I don't like how the lights on the ship flash with the different sounds. I'd like it better if the lights were steady during the sound clips like they were on the 1701.

Well, the good news is that you can just have the nacelles and deflector stay lit up, according to one youtube demonstration I saw.
That's good to know. I was disappointed when the Wrath of Khan 1701 didn't have that feature.

Mine just came in today! It's awesome! Yeah, there is a button just behind the main impulse engine that turns all the lights on when you push it.

Well I just ordered my AA Ent-E!

$40 plus $7 shipping. :king:

He said they are on slight backorder and I should get it in about 30-40 days. I'm still excited!

Here are some pictures comparing both of the necks.

i have placed my order for this. i hope it get filled soon. >_<

yea there's really no excuse for one ship having window details and the other not when the one with more details came out sooner. it looks like someone just messed up on painting instructions they sent to china. >_<

maybe that's why there was a huge delay. they actually made the regular version first, but the mistake was caught only after production had finished. they had to think about what to do, redo or release. by then they had already fixed the mistake so the all good things version had the correct neck painting. with the cost of redoing the entire stock of regular d, it would have been too costly and they would have had to eat that up or pass it on to the consumers upping the cost of the ship. i'm sure that came with it's own set of problems so after a long delay they went ahead and released it anyway and hoped people wouldn't be to dismayed by the error.

Can I use your pics in another thread?

P.S. You mentioned not being able to open the battery compartment on the saucer section? If you do get it open, there is an "on/off" switch inside there that makes the lights on the saucer brighter and sound louder, and it makes the sounds and lights work when the saucer is separated from the battle section.

Sure.. Go ahead and use my photos for another thread.. As for the battery compartment, I've already managed to get it open..

Got my hands on one at Silver Snail Comics in Toronto, it's joined my fleet of Enterprises at home (already had NX-01, Classic 1701 and the 1701-E)....This one is definitely my favorite Art Asylum starship so far. I love the saucer separation.

I'd love if they did an Excelsior/Enterprise-B next.

My regular Ent-D should be here monday. It looks like I'm gonna have to find a way to paint the windows on the neck myself...

I've been experimenting, so far I tried carefully poking holes in a strip of duct-tape and applying it to the plastic cover on some blank dvd's I have, then painting over that. After a minute to dry I pealed it off and it was close but a bit too sloppy. Am now looking to refine the process... MY Ent-D WILL have windows on the neck so help me god!!! :scream:

:shifty:

edit: oops, meant to post this in the art forum...

I reckon somebody will get around to making decals for this. At least I hope they do....

Hell, AA or DST should release some for free that you can get for the price of postage.

I have wanted to purchase this since hearing about it last summer but now I am backing off a bit. I even killed my preorder so I could decide if I wanted to purchase it or not. Don't get me wrong. It looks nice but the neck is giving me pause. Will they fix it in the next run? Is AA going to bother addressing the issue at all? (A press release or even a blurb on their blog would be nice.) Until I know something further I am not spending $50.

A blurb on their blog would be nice I agree but unfortunately they are knowingly silent, almost as if they don't feel like taking the heat over their sloppiness.

Try those slim flat tipped tooth picks for painting the windows. I think each pick may only one to three windows but if you are careful and slow it migh work to paint the windows on the neck.
