Art Asylum Enterprise-D Model

Mine came in and it's absolutely beautiful, and the windowless neck doesn't stick out as much as I thought it would from a lot of angles. However, the damn thing seems to fall forward when I put it on the stand no matter what I do. How do you get this thing to cooperate?

I got mine in the mail today, and i couldnt be happier with it. The window issue doesnt bother me, and the separation feature is frakking awesome!

Got mine in less than an hour ago and have done all my fiddling with it. Well, the at folks Diamond Select defiantly did something special... this is one damn fine model lemme tell ya!

They did excellent work. This ship is so detailed the windowless neck is not only forgivable but I find it doesn't detract from it one bit. BRAVO DIAMOND SELECT!

I had no problem with the battery covers, they are snug but workable. I wish they had gone with AAA batterys in the saucer for simplicity sake. An excellent addition to my collection that I'm proud to display.

The lighting and paint job is very accurate, it also has stable dual stands. Basically what others in this thread have written but here is my two cents, it was a long wait.

I have mine on the stand bacwards, so the top is pointing to the rear of the ship. I can't put into poses like my AA Enterprise-E. :sigh:

Just got mine this afternoon. It's probably one of the best Trek ships AA/DST has ever put out, maybe even better than the refit 1701. Now I have to fight the urge to get the Excelsior and/or Enterprise-B.

Try using the peg right behind the deflector dish, not the one on the battery cover. Failing that, try the one in the saucer.

It's BEEN on the one right behind the deflector dish. And holding it up just by the saucer would make it tip backwards, then. Tho I do have a solution...kind of. I have a very large mech figure that I just left its arm holding down the back. It's fairly unnoticeable at a glance, and it looks way nicer now that it's standing on its own (kind of).

One of my AA TOS Enterprises -- the version from "The Cage" -- came with a loose ball-and-socket joint on its display stand. Even after I'd get the thing to stabilize by positioning it just so, the ship would topple after some hours or days. One time it toppled off of a table and the stand broke entirely. Know anyone with a spare stand for that ship? $#%@#%...

I've only had minor problems with the ball socket stands. When the Enterprise is together I keep the delta stand backward and tilt the Enterprise upward, it sits just fine.

If you have a model on a ball socket that just won't stand anymore just keep one thing in mind, it means you ball has worn away too much to hold the model so you have to make it bigger again. I find the easiest way is to coat the ball join with superglue and let it dry, do this a few times till it's bigger.

Once you have it a little bigger that you need file it down to size and there ya go, nice and grippy.

Oh, here's a question. I just replaced the batteries in the saucer and while the impulse engines are much brighter Picard still sounds run down and tired, wish they had tweaked the recording. Does everyone's Picard sound tired too?

I would hope so. lol

Check the terminals then perhaps. Or do the old BB reset and let it sit for a while with no batts at all and let any remaining charge fizz out of the circuits.

got my two ships yesterday! they look great. i can even forgive the lack of neck window details on the regular ship. the all good things version is sitting on top of my computer. :D

I have the most strangest Enterprise D, it didn't come with the name

Oh my god!!!! I think you better send it back for a replacement.. Where did u get it from? Online? If you got it at a store, you shd have checked it properly prior to purchasing coz it could be clearly seen in its packaging if its missing the NCC-1701-D registration... The top saucer section is clearly visible in the packaging, so errors like that shd be easy to spot..

Huh. Guess instead of the Enterprise-D, you own one of the nameless Galaxies from "Sacrifice of Angels" (2 that had neither name nor registry on top or bottom of the saucer in a flyby, IIRC). But that really is bizarre. What was the condition of the packaging?

I got it online, and I already talked to the store that sold it to me. Basically I would be getting a new one and most likely be getting to keep this one, so ill have two. Maybe if someone can come up with decals I can name this one another name... lol
Yeah if I would have bought this one in store, I would have noticed but only noticed when I opened the box. The box was in pristine condition, im guessing it was just a slip up in the manufacturing process.

Well, if you do end up having both a D and ol' nameless here, I'm kinda jealous in a way. I'd love to have a Galaxy for the Altair (a friend's RP ship), but I'm not gonna mess up my D. Good to hear that it's getting straightened out, in any case.

That would be cool to get an unnamed AA Galaxy.

Oh and I ordered an ENT-E last week (on back order) and the combo Ent-D and All Good THings - D last night. I am excited!!!
