Beat to it! This is great. We are, getting a better idea of the interactions of characters. In the original miniseries there was a huge gathering of superheroes in the Monitor’s satellite headquarters. Plus... memory is fuzzy... a huge gathering of supervillians in Brainiac’s skullship. Wonder if Jon Cryer as Lex will be involved in a big group. Really though he is the only announced villian so far. Outside of Anti-Monitor and Reverse Flash.

I wouldn't mind if they kill the Earth one Superman as long as it meant we got to keep Brandon or Tom as the new permanent Superman. in the comics, they killed the New 52 Superman and replaced him with the post-crisis version, and I believe one of the original ideas for the 80s crisis was for Kal L from earth two to survive and replace the Earth one Superman.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tom's deal for coming back was the same as Harrison's deal for doing The Force Awakens.

If you mean Tyler Hoechlin's version, he's the Earth-38 Superman. There is no Earth-1 Superman.

Brandon Routh is leaving Legends, so I doubt he'd stick around to play Superman. And Tom Welling spent years refusing to play Superman long past the time he should've started, so there's little chance he'd do it now.

Welling is just in it for more anecdotes for the con circuit.

I had a crazy thought, but it is speculation which I will put in spoiler text:

We get the impression that Oliver survives and Felicity goes with The Monitor to be with him. What if Oliver becomes part of the Speed Force and takes the place that Barry had in the original miniseries - becoming the lightning that strikes Barry and playing off Oliver’s assertion that the lightning chose Barry.

    Just a thought.

That happened in Flash #0, the Zero Hour special in the 90s.

An unstuck in time middle aged Wally was the lightning bolt that hit Barry and Wally giving them their speed.

Given the way the writers treat Superman, it wouldn't shock me if Tyler dies. I've been expecting it for a year.

That said, just because this story has similar attributes to the comic story, does not mean it has to follow it to the letter. Given the nature of the TV shows, it shouldn't.

I would like to see this story shake some things up. I wouldn't mind seeing some Earths merged, but I do want a multiverse. The TV shows and actors that are guesting in this story should have enough screen time and significance to make it worthy of their casting. No more Flash 90s from last year. That was horrible.

Likewise, those actors and their shows should be respected enough not to be obliterated.

I'd like to see some permanent shakeups on Earths 1 and 38. Maybe those Earths merge, maybe they don't, but something post-Crisis that makes some changes for the better.

And I really want John to officially become John Stewart, Green Lantern, and history altered so that was how it always was.

I agree with a lot of this... I think Earth-38 and Earth 1 should merge (if CBS had passed on Supergirl, that could have happened). But I too like that have some part of the multiverse left.

But I think SOME of the other universes should die...I mean, with Burt Ward, at his age..a heroic death would be a nice goodbye. He is 74 now... now, he COULD live as long as Adam West (88), but just in case...

With the younger ones... I will wait and see...but would be fine with a couple of others (maybe 1 at the beginning of each crossover episode) going as well...

I'd like Diggle as Green Lantern, but I would be cool with it moving from THIS point forward.

And I know Crisis will NOT be beat for beat … I mean, Earth 90 dyng isn't the white anti-matter death (which might be cheaply done with the white out effect and/or relatively basic CGI), but rather a cheap looking smoke and "dead" bodies.. I expect the budget to be stretched, but not enough to show a cinematic Crisis.

The Berlanti shows have been good about having homages yet unique in their own right. But that Supergirl death is just too iconic NOT to include in some fashion. Do we know how Atom is leaving? Maybe HE will take the FLash ROle? Or Captain Cold?

This showed up in my feed this morning. I don't know the channel, but I thought it was well enough made to share:

They're not going to kill Supergirl or the Flash in any way in this version.
If any two die it will most likely be Green Arrow and the Tyler Hoechlin version of Superman

I don't think they'd set up that Barry has a "fixed" date of death and then not pay that off (even temporarily), especially since people have already gotten peeved by 'death fakeouts' in the past.

Disagree with your spoiler speculation. I think it's more likely to be
the Routh Superman than Hoechlin's. They've already said they're going to introduce Hoechlin-Supes and Lois's infant child in the crossover, and the Arrowverse shows are not generally cold enough to kill off the recently married father of a newborn. Whereas the Kingdom Come motif for Routh might suggest life circumstances that would make him ripe for a sad but noble end.

Man, how sucky would it be
for two of Routh's characters to die??

Also, zero changes of either Flash or Supergirl being killed of midseason.

Is that a new suit for Black Lightning.
I think you are going to be very, very disappointed.

    Certainly not.

No one in that production has the stones to actually do what the comic did in killing off major characters with a justifiable meaning. The problem with any so-called "epic" whether in film, TV or comics is when the stakes are supposed to be at their highest, yet everyone comes out clean, leaving deaths to the C-listers. As the brilliant, original COIE comic proved, this was not like other comics, where there was a get-together with no consequences, other than predictably, its back to business as usual. That's what the TV version needs, but it will never go there.

With the exception of perhaps a few characters from Arrow, who are A-list to fans but perhaps C-List in the comics (don't read comics, wouldn't know) I agree.
We know of a few characters not coming back after the current seasons end, and I believe James Olson is actually leaving during season 5? But they're simply NOT going to kill Supergirl or Flash and THEN having them being resurrected almost straight away. It's pointless.

I've read the last Superman, and the last Wonder Woman comic, which was awful, she marries Steve Trevor and lives happily ever after. Superman does the same thing, but he also gives up his super powers so that he can have babies without killing Lois, but you know, feminism.

Was there a last Batman comic in 1985?
