Spoilers Arrow Season 7

Haven't been keeping up with promos, and Cisco wasn't around in this episode to name them but do we know what nicknames the Longbow Hunters go by or do I just call them Needles, Anti-Canary and Captain Evil America? ;)

Red Dart (played by Holly Elissa), Kodiak (played by Michael Jonsson) and Silencer (played by Miranda Edwards).

Edit: I did some reading, and it turns out that Red Dart is the only one of those who's a member of the comics' Longbow Hunters villain team, which was introduced in 2014 and is led by Ricardo Diaz, aka Richard Dragon (a villainous reboot of a kung-fu hero from '70s comics). But Brick (Vinnie Jones's character here) is also a member in the comics, which makes me wonder if he'll turn out to be one in the show as well. The other members in the comics are Count Vertigo and Killer Moth. I'd say we're way overdue for Killer Moth's introduction in the Arrowverse...

Kodiak is another recent Green Arrow foe, debuting in 2013 from the same creators as the Longbow Hunters team and Red Dart, Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino. He's the leader of something called the Shield Clan, which I guess explains his weapon here. As for the Silencer (Honor Guest), she's a brand-new character introduced earlier this year by Dan Abnett and John Romita, Jr. She's a retired assassin drawn back into action to protect her family.

Oh, she's based on that new Metal comic? Wow, that's one of the fastest comics to screen adaptations then.

Yeah, if you discount characters who were actually created for the screen but came out in comics first due to faster production times, like Renee Montoya and Aqualad/Kaldur'ahm. Given how long it takes to make TV, I'd imagine it's similar to the Barbara Gordon/Batgirl situation, where the show's producers saw that the comics editor was developing the character and decided they wanted to use her in the show. (Contrary to the myth that they actually asked the comics folks to create the character for their benefit, which I believed until I looked into it last week.)

Definitely not as good as last week, but it moved the story forward. I find myself more interested in the future than the present storyline. I guess given that Diaz was the villain last year, it feels repetitive. And I agree that the lack of costumed heroes changes things. It's a superhero show, not a crime drama.

I do wonder if they are going to keep Oliver in Prison all season long. The series is called Arrow, but I get this feeling we are not going to see much Arrow. They're almost treating it more of a symbol right now rather than a literal thing, especially during Felicity and Diggle's talk about the Hood.

I'm not there yet, but one of my big gripes with the second half of Flash season 4 was Berry spent way too much time in Jail for a show that was called Flash. I hope Arrow doesn't follow that same line of story.

Not a bad episode, the introduction of the Longbow Hunters was pretty good.
The drama between Felicity and Diggle wasn't to bad.
The stuff with Ollie in prison was pretty good, but I'm really hoping they don't drag that one too long.
The stuff with Laurel and Dinah was pretty, I'm glad that they seem to be resolving their issues.
I'm curious if/when they go back to all working together as Team Arrow if we'll have both Black Canary and Black Siren on the team together.
Is that Colton Haynes playing future Roy? If so he looks pretty different there.

Good grief... I noted last week in the Riverdale thread that that show and Arrow were doing basically the same plot at the same time, with their lead characters both in hellish prisons and facing similar plot points, e.g. being pressured to hurt someone else and choosing to take the harm onto themselves. And now Arrow gives us the same underground fight club plot that Riverdale did last week! This is bizarre. Didn't the CW execs notice the similarity? Or did they just not expect the two shows to have a lot of audience overlap?

They should have made them both the same prison and the same fight club. In the comics, Archie has had more bizarre crossovers than that.;)

Well, theoretically, Archie is in juvenile detention with other high schoolers. It's just portrayed as a hellish, brutal prison for lifers because Riverdale is utterly crazy.

Can somone please drop Felicity down a deep dark hole. Her constant whining sucks the life out of every scene she is in.

I want Arrow to fight Archie. That's all I thought about when that plot started.

So after a strong premiere, I feel like the show has lost direction again. Last year, it was the newbies v. the OGs. That got old fast. This year, Oliver being in prison is a different show.

I want to watch Green Arrow, not Prison Break.

Not that a show about a good person in jail isn't a bad idea, it's just not THIS show.

My fear is that this will drag on.

At this point, I'm hoping Diaz becomes a big enough threat that the governor will give Oliver a pardon and deputize him so he can operate as Green Arrow officially. And I am far more interested in the storyline in the future.

It looks like the stuff Diaz injected himself with was Mirakuru, since it made him superstrong. In which case he'll probably deal with the heightened aggression and mental instability as well, which, considering where he's starting from, is not gonna be pretty.

I agree that it's weird to have no costumed heroes on an Arrowverse show, although it is kind of a return to the early days when Oliver was the only semi-costumed character. We didn't even see the fake Green Arrow or Future Arsenal this week. Heck, we didn't even see Diggle in tactical gear. At least we got one code name, for the Silencer.
