Spoilers Arrow - Season 5

Oliver never bothered with school and he's the mayor now.
There's a lesson there somewhere for you kids! :techman:

He did somehow manage to learn superhero computer hacking, though he tends to leave most of that work to Felicity. Have the flashbacks covered him getting those tech skills yet? I don't remember anything of that sort, but I may have missed a line about it.

^^
He probably just bought the hacking arrow at a flea market somewhere, because two episodes later he didn't know how to take out a HDD from a laptop. ;)

A three-man parachute.

...a three-man parachute that somehow magically has super-boosting capability (allowing those people to safely fly through a ceiling opening in a moving subway train)... The physics of that scene definitely deserves an episode on Mythbusters. It's too bad that show is gone.

I'm more puzzled by the scene of the recruits saying "This is the first we're hearing about a serial killer" -- several scenes after the TV news reports about the serial killer started a panic that the recruits were called in to quell. So... not one of them watches the news? They just helped contain the panic without any curiosity as to its cause?

It wasn't on their twitter feed.

No way in hell is Quentin Prometheus. He's getting framed with a cut on his arm. I don't remember, did Tommy have a reason to have a grudge with Quentin in Season One?

I've been enjoying S5 of Arrow much more than I did S4.
With the versions of Artemis, Wild Dog and Ragman being added and Vigilante up next this season has been fun.

The idea of Prometheus being Tommy is the leading internet theory. What with the time travel by Barry already affecting this show via the sex of Diggle's child. Quentin is for sure a red herring. We'll likely get the Prometheus revel during the episode just before the Winter hiatus. Tommy's "justification" would be that he blames Oliver for Laurel's death I'd imagine.

Do we know for sure its a man behand the mask? If we're going back to S1 and the list, Huntress becomes a possibility perhaps?

We've heard Prometheus speak in what's apparently the voice of Michael Dorn. Presumably the voice is disguised somehow, but it'd have to be really disguised for there to be a woman under there.

This summer it was announced Katie Cassidy had one of those deals to be a regular across Arrow-Flash-Legends but we've almost finished the first 1/4 of each shows season and besides the flashback to her conversation with Oliver in 5x01. Did a quick google search but no further word on her return.

There's a
photo from the crossover on the interwebs, it looks like she'll be in it as a dream/illusion or something like that. And I think one of the producers mentioned that she'll be more prominently featured in episode 5x10.

Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman got those deals too, and so far we've only seen Miller once in flashback and Barrowman not at all. So maybe it's more for the later portions of the season.

And Cassidy has appeared (vocally) as Black Canary in the past couple of Vixen episodes as well, and probably in this Friday's season finale -- though that's a flashback to the middle of last season, shortly before the start of Legends of Tomorrow.

They haven't even mentioned Earth-2 Evil Laurel this season either, and she should still be languishing in the STAR Labs basement or less likely in IHP, since the latter would eventually cross Quentin's desk or someone would see her and connect some dots. Haven't had a prison break this year (save Diggle), so when it comes due...

This year's Arrow team reminds me a lot of the latter seasons of House, when the first batch of Doclings moved on / hung around anyway, and House recruited a batch of new ones. I'm guessing it'll all come back together eventually, or perhaps it'll be a rotating cast sort of thing should Arrow see a sixth season and beyond?

I'm not sure, but didn't they send the captured Earth-Two villains back to their own world at some point?

Interesting comparison. I hadn't thought of that, but it is similar.

Actually, "Invincible" was the very episode they sent Evil Everyone from E2 back. Evil Laurel was the outlier who remained after that (along with Evil Hunter), and was last seen in the basement. This doesn't preclude them sending her back as well at some later, I suppose, but it wasn't really mentioned. I suppose they'll have the requisite throwaway line when she inevitably (?) reappears, explaining where she's been and why she's back before getting on with it.

And there I was, thinking, "boy, Ollie could use a shield arrow about now", and then what should appear? LOL.

I'm just gonna say it: "Vigilante" is a really dumb name for a vigilante. And it's weird how the characters all fell into using it like a name rather than just a description.

The Vigilante costume is fairly authentic, I guess, but it's not all that good-looking. The mask and cowl are oddly cheap-looking.

I guess the unifying theme tying the flashbacks to the main story this week is betrayal. The Bratva made a deal with Kovar rather than helping Oliver kill him... and it turns out a recruit is working with Prometheus. I did not see that coming.

Wow, I was wondering how Evelyn was getting so good at archery so fast, I guess having two instructors helps. Also explains why she survived the encounter with Prometheus on the train the previous episode.

Quentin and Thea's storyline more than makes up for the lack of Speedy. It's a much better treatment of grief and alcoholism than Laurel's somewhat overly dramatic stint dealing with those same issues in season 2 was.

There were a lot of para-parental moments this episode, both Quentin-Thea, but also Diggle-Wild Dog.

Oliver's a bit too trusting of Susan Williams, though it's kinda hard to tell if she's actually softening up on him, or is she just really a good actress and is only mining him for the story. Kinda interested to see how that turns out, will he be betrayed by two women at the same time?

I like how the director distracted us with Diggle's muscles so that people who missed that baby Sara was replaced with JJ wouldn't notice the switcheroo because they're too focused on the biceps. Clever ploy :techman:

The action and fighting at the beginning of the episode seemed much better than the last fight with Ski-Mask, that weird cut with the gun kinda threw me out of the episode for a second.
Also, another trick arrow, yay! It's the Bulletproof Bat-Screen! :D
