Arrow - Season 3

Yeah. Cassidy looks like clown in the costume. It's obvious they shaped the mask and wig around Lotz's face and never bothered to change it.
Well, they are obviously different masks.

Wig might be same. And that does look flat on Cassidy. And it covers too much forehead compared to her real hair.

EDIT: Did some photoshopping and black facepaint around eyes would improve Cassidy's mask.. I wonder why they didnt start using it.

Don't even need a flash forward with Prof Zoom and Rip Hunter running around.

So you don't need a flash-forward because the Flash can go forward?

I think Fist McStrongpunch's argument is that they don't need to come up with a reason to show a glimpse of the future in "flashforward" style when you have one character we've seen who's from the future and another one just cast who's a time traveler. They could actually visit a future with Connor in it.

Of course, Zoom is not up to time traveling yet (and, the show's only shown us characters who've traveled backwards in time) and we haven't seen Rip at all, yet.

^I wasn't actually confused by his statement, I was just making a pun on "Flash forward." Perhaps I used the wrong smiley -- it was supposed to be mock confusion, not actual confusion. I thought that would be clear from context.

Last week's ep was definitely cool, though Lance blaming Ollie for Merlyn was a "huh?" moment, seeing as how the Undertaking was in the works before he returned from the Island. Still, it makes sense that Lance wasn't thinking entirely clearly in the moment, and certainly all the other unfortunate occurrences he listed, including Sara leaving Starling in the first place, can certainly be tied back to him.

The flashbacks are getting tiresome. When Oliver finally told Shado's twin sister what happened on the island "two years ago," I started running numbers in my head. " Is that right?" If Shado/Twin said her dad and sister had both disappeared three years earlier, that meant they had both been on the island only a year before Ollie came, but it seemed longer than that. Since this is Season 3, wouldn't the current timeline be three years after Ollie returned to Starling City?
Starting with the assumption that each season is one year, and each season's flashback is one year.
Lao Fe was already on the island and "disappeared" prior to the start of the series. Presumably Shado had gone searching for him, so she may have dropped out of sight shortly after.
The end of season one was one year for Ollie, probably two years for Lao Fe. The end of season two was two years/three years.
Right now it hasn't been a full three years since Ollie's arrival in Starling. It would be normal for someone in a conversation to say "two years" when it has been two-and-a-half. We state our ages that way, or the length of our marriages, etc.

I've never liked Laurel as, well, anything.
Yes, I'd say she's probably the weakest link in the show.
She's not ALL bad. I think she looks better in the Canary outfit than Sarah.

But that's all. Not enough to keep her on, huh?

To be fair, Arch101... this looks like a misquote. I think it was Christopher who "never liked Laurel" as anything. ;)

I actually liked her early season 1 as a butt kicking lawyer for the downtrodden. IIRC she pulled Ollie's bacon out of the fire in an early encounter gone wrong with some moves that she didn't need WildCat or "Nyssa Heir to the Demon" to teach her. :bolian:

But after that early start, they made her a freaking wimp and its been downhill since then.

^Sure, my problem in season 1 wasn't with how the character was written, just with the casting. Although Laurel has become a pretty dysfunctional character since then.

^Agreed. I've never found her to be a particularly good actress and her character has been pretty annoying for the most part. She's not the kind of person I would picture Black Canary to be like.

I have to wonder what the character would have been like if they had cast Caity Lotz as Laurel.

I think generally much better, though they'd have to figure a way to make her into a superhero.

What i WOULD have liked would have been if Sara came back SECRETLY. They Laurel is killed, and Sara assumes her ID, and runs a quiet floral shop as cover (to not attract attention).

Then sara's training would still work

I like Caity Lotz a lot, but I feel I would have believed her even less as a lawyer. Now if they had combined the characters and made Laurel "die" on the boat, I could have believed that. It would have been a very different Black Canary, though, and would require either a complete abandonment of Wildcat or making him LoA or something.

Kinda seems like they have abandoned Wildcat. Only time he's been mentioned since he got Brick'd was last episode when Daddy Lance was on his little vigilante rant at Laurel. I'm still not sure if he's dead or alive.

I feel like they would have mentioned if he died.

True, but I'm surprised we haven't even had a throwaway line about him recovering in hospital or something. Especially considering how important he was to Laurel. She seemed to have forgotten about him entirely until Lance mentioned him.

Isn't it that the actor is not available anymore? I think I've read something along these lines, and it seems understandable if the producers wanted to keep the character in limbo, for the chance the actor could return some other time.

He implied he thought he was dying. It might have been an ambiguous death but, if he is later revealed to be dead, I wouldn't be surprised.
