Are you or are you not?

I keep reading about the atlantis movie Extinction. Last time I read it wasn't getting enough money. Now I read that its filming in Canada and its coming out this year. I am confused, does anybody in the business or anyone period know about this film? Is it filming? Was it cancelled?

The most recent official word is that it's canceled, or just "on hold" if you want to be optimistic about it. Point is, don't expect it to be made anytime soon.

Since pretty much everything has been auctioned off from SG-1 and SGA, I've given up all hope at this point.

Joe Mallozzi has mentioned on his blog that the script is shelved and while it's still possible they'll make the film, he has no idea when. The Atlantis sets have not been taken out of storage.

At least the SGA sets haven't been destroyed.

But they did cut up the main Atlantis gate and auctioned it off in pieces, along with all of the Atlantis ancient computer consoles (including the DHD), all of the puddle jumper innards, and I think some of the stained glass windows. Even if they have the main sets, it would be a lot to rebuild.

The chances of an Atlantis movie are pretty much nil at this point unfortunately. Mallozzi has already encouraged people to push for MGM to release the script if they really want to see what happens. It wouldn't be ideal, but with the prospect of either that or nothing, I think I'd probably pay a few quid to get a copy of the script.

If it's script or nothing, I'd happily take the script. At least then we could know once and for all where Atlantis actually is now!

Never trust IMDB.

I thought people knew that by now. It's just lies and I don't know how they get some of the info they have.

However MGM has cut the budget for the SG-1 Movie, it's being filmed in my back yard right now with my cell phone camera.
