Are You a Fan of The Big Bang Theory?

I tried to watch the show once. I saw a few episodes but cannot watch it again. I am very much turned off by Jim Parson's character (not the actor himself, I am sure he does his job well). There is just something about the extreme arrogance of this character that I cannot stand to see. I did not like the way he puts people down and constantly acts with this huge sense of self superiority. Other shows that had characters like this, such as Frasier, did so in a very funny way with the characters learning humbling lessons. Now that I think of it, I do believe that The Big Bang Theory has a lot in common with Frasier, except the latter was a far superior show.

I suspect that is the point...we're supposed to hate Sheldon. He's like the 'heel' in pro wrestling.

Yes, I feel the same way about the Sheldon character. He's not a character that I like in spite of his flaws, or even one that I love to hate. He's someone that, if I knew him in life, I'd go out of my way to avoid. And I dislike the other characters more for constantly putting up with his crap.

I liked everyone on Frasier, even with their flaws.

In the first season, Sheldon was a (somewhat) normal young man, with a few unusual habits. Over time he transformed into someone who was clueless about a great many things and a obsessive compulsive.

In the beginning Sheldon was funny. Now, years later, I find him annoying... He just views himself so much better than anyone else.

But Penny is still pretty! :)

I've tried to get into the show a couple of times, but most of the time I saw the jokes coming a mile away. The rest of the time, I just didn't find it funny.

I binge watched the first few seasons, found them pretty funny. Haven't watched much of it after that.

I can see Sheldon's attitude as a graduate student and maybe postdoc. This far along in his career not that much.

I'm still enjoying it . . . and am curious to see where it goes next season.

And just think, soon they'll have a new TREK show to crack jokes about, and for the gang to argue about. :)

They're on CBS. Trek is on CBS All Access. The mind boggles at the possibilities!!!!!!

Cameos by some of the new TREK actors? An entire episode where the whole gang throws a viewing party to watch the first episode, but then Bernadette goes into labor?

I've watched a lot of the episodes, but certainly not all of them. I really don't go out of my way to watch any episodes, but they're on all the time on TBS and one of our local stations. I catch a few original airings from time to time.
