Yes. They were still using 1000 year old tech, they deserved it.

If they continue on then no, it is not useless.Yes. They were still using 1000 year old tech, they deserved it.
They should have found a better tech between PIC and the Burn.If they continue on then no, it is not useless.
Always look to the future.Unless one also believes it is useless to study history because they're all a bunch of dead people?

The Federation is highly reluctant to change technology, so they continue on with what they know works. Transwarp? Never heard of again. Medusan modifications? Nope. Kelvan modifications? Similarly no. Warp 10? Gone.hey should have found a better tech between PIC and the Burn.
Actually they did, with the Borg Transwarp Hub in S1 of PIC.
But with the Borg gone the Feds could have taken over that.
But not at the expense of the moment.Always look to the future.
Real life budgetary reasons I think. We should have had Warp 20 by TNG.The Federation is highly reluctant to change technology, so they continue on with what they know works. Transwarp? Never heard of again. Medusan modifications? Nope. Kelvan modifications? Similarly no. Warp 10? Gone.
That's how Starfleet and the Federation are consistently presented. They are extremely careful with adopting new technology.
Enjoy the moment to look forward to the future. But not at the expense of the moment.
I think ignorance of the past.Real life budgetary reasons I think. We should have had Warp 20 by TNG.
IDIC my friend.Enjoy the moment to look forward to the future.
I think the Federation was wrong to repeatedly poke the Dominion with a stick until there was a war that killed people by the multiple thousands, not rooting for that action.I understand that as viewers, we're supposed to be rooting for the Federation, and I do.
I think Picard's position was completely wrong in Insurrection, the opposite position was imperfect but would have helped people by the millions
"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"?Forcibly relocating residents against their will or even their knowledge is a good thing to do?
TSFS got there first.Kind of interesting how Insurrection upends one of Trek's more famous quotes.
I think Kirk's made more sense and cost less.TSFS got there first.![]()
I wish the TNG films had managed anything on the level of the dichotomy managed by TWOK and TSFS (and reflected upon in TVH) with regard to the famous Vulcan saying.I think Kirk's made more sense and cost less.
