Well, I think that Kirk never spoe much about Archer cause maybe he thought Arrcher was a complete moron or something. *shrug*

I mean I don't talk about presidents Johnson or Nixon cause of a similer reason, I always thought they were 2 total smegheads who had the brains of diareaha and the breedings of a maggot. :p
NAh!!!!

Timo may be correct, but I would have expected a Coalition of Planets Starfleet fairly quickly after the treatly was signed. It would be expected that Archer would be in that organization, at least for political reasons.

That image is terrifying. :cardie:
Maybe a poster of T'Pol or Hoshi, I could understand.

And I thought Red Wings fans were scary. :vulcan:

The computer cards in his hand contain an early version of "Vulcan Love Slave." Mitchell had no idea what was in that stack of books Kirk lugged around campus.

At least Kirk has good feng shui sense.

This really is a strange discussion.

These are TV shows. One part was filmed in the 1960s. Another part was filmed forty years later. The first part didn't mention the second part.

Any attempt to make the first part reference the second part says everything about the posters and nothing about the TV show.

FWIW, I believe there *were* informal plans to replace one of the ships in TMP's rec room scene (the ringed Enterprise) with the NX-01. But they didn't do it, probably because it wouldn't have been easily read anyway, since those ships were just tiny B&W photos.

How could TOS have referenced anything on ENT, seeing as it was filmed after and not before?
Maybe Archer was not a hero of Kirk's for whatever reason. I would strongly object, even if it could be legally and technically done, to loop over some dialogue with mentions of Archer, T'Pol, etc.
If they had wanted to badly enough, they could have replaced the ringship in TMP with the NX-01, but did not.

I don't know why they decided to make Archer "Kirk's hero." Kirk was not any of the 24th century captain's "hero." Maybe an icon, but not hero.
Sisko seemed to be pretty fond of Kirk.

Maybe. Picard may have been too. But neither got "excited" over meeting the two. I was trying to point out that maybe they weren't "hero heroes." I don't know this thread is too confusing for me :)

The finale was probably, next to Shades of Grey and Spocks Brain, one of TREKDOM's most idiotic hours of entertainment.

Well, I'll agree with you on that. That final ep of ENT was hideous, and a terrible way for the show to end, after what I felt was a really good season (sorry, but I liked Season 4 a lot, save for ATATV).

Thankfully, that ep won't be the last image of Trek that we'll see.

Why would Kirk or anyone else mention Archer unless the situation called for it? How often do you drop George Washington into your conversations?
All the time. And I'm Canadian.
And I'm an American and rarely have unless I'm discussing George Washington or events he was envolved in. When I'm talking about cars, football, space travel or vampires its hard to work in a good Washington namedrop without getting stares

"All the time" means what exactly: Every few hours? Once a day? Once a week? Once a year?

It is a little-known fact that all of Archer's exploits were merely stories within stories within stories -- they were fictional adventures enjoyed by Captain Proton in his childhood.

And Proton dreamed them all up after toking off some hellacious weed given to him by Chaotica's henchman.
