In Yesterday's Enterprise Riker boasts about the pasting they gave the Klingons on Archer 6, this could be retconned into a reference to Enterprise.
Archer IV, actually.
Is it pathetic that I know that off the top of my head?
Don't answer that.

The ENT episode "Strange New World" with the hallucinatory pollen is supposed to end up being Archer 4, along with another planet that's named after him.
To which REAL star 'Archer' do you refer (by original, Romanized or English-language name)? You don't mean a constellation such as Sagittarius or Orion, instead? The ENT episode "Strange New World" with the hallucinatory pollen is supposed to end up being Archer 4, along with another planet that's named after him.
So, the ancient Greeks (from which the REAL star 'Archer' got it's name... after romanization, naturally) were ENT fans?
I want to adress the spock-T'pol thing. Now I havent seen all of Enterprise, i don't care for it, and I respect and like TOS but its not my fav. Now if my memory serves me correctly Spock was in starfleet. T'Pol was not in starfleet she just served on the enterprise for the Vulcans and was then asked to stay by Archer. So spock being the first isnt completly destroyed. We all know TOS was made decades before ENTERPRISE was. That was one of the reasons I could never get into Enterprise. I mean, Kirk and company never mention this guy. I think T'pol being in the crew kind of detracts from Spock being 'the first' vulcan and all that.....
But TOS made vague references alot about the past. Can you think of a quasi-reference to Archer back in the old show? Even in passing??

How could TOS have referenced anything on ENT, seeing as it was filmed after and not before?
Maybe Archer was not a hero of Kirk's for whatever reason. I would strongly object, even if it could be legally and technically done, to loop over some dialogue with mentions of Archer, T'Pol, etc.
If they had wanted to badly enough, they could have replaced the ringship in TMP with the NX-01, but did not.
Spock was only said to be the first Vulcan to graduate from Starfleet Academy, IIRC.
Sisko seemed to be pretty fond of Kirk. How could TOS have referenced anything on ENT, seeing as it was filmed after and not before?

I don't know why they decided to make Archer "Kirk's hero." Kirk was not any of the 24th century captain's "hero." Maybe an icon, but not hero.

I'm pretty sure that was never said either.
Timo may be correct, but according to his bio from IAMD, wasn't he a high ranking Federation Starfleet officer?

Archer started out in the Earth Starfleet, and later serves in the Federation Starfleet (he eventually becomes an Admiral).
