Anyone sad we can't see this crew on a weekly basis?

Norrin Radd

Vice Admiral
I'm not saying I'd necessarily prefer a TV series to the movies, but I'd love to see these actors play their roles on a more frequent basis.

Absolutely. I sincerely hope whoever is involved in the inevitable t.v. Trek reboot will have the same casting and overall smarts as the creative people involved in the movie.

At the end of Star Trek, I was ready for that first mission to begin, like I'd just gotten warmed up...

I'm not, really. It would be nice to see a TV show, but I think it's important that we stick with movies for a while. If we switch to TV again, then it runs the risk of falling back into the weekly same-old, same-old. Movies give the writers more flexibility and more options. We should just stick to the movies for a while, and then eventually maybe return to the television.

Desperate and drooling... but not disappointed. ~Grin~ Do you want it fast, or do you want it done well, you know what I mean? People would be out there dusting off their old TNG treatments to hawk, with little lines through "Picard" with "Kirk" penned in over it.

Every series has a writer's bible - perhaps the next Trek will have a writer's bible and some concrete examples to fire an imagination set for This time, and These characters. A little "try-it-before-you-buy-it" action.

See NuKirk every week? No thank you. I find school bullies with more dignity and a sense of morality than NuKirk. He's a douche bag.

Yes, I'm ready for my next adventure with the new crew. *sigh* It's going to be a long wait.

As much as I'd love an awesome new series, I'm not convinced a new series made right now would necessarily be awesome. It's baby steps recovering from VOY-ENT-INS-NEM; let's get a few more awesome movies under our belt before we start thinking abiout a series.

It would be great. Abrams, and Kurtzman and Orci for the latter, did nice work on Lost and Fringe.
Even Abrams freely admits the last few years that he has had nothing to do with Lost--all the great work there is the result of Lindelof and Cuse.

As for Fringe, I didn't much care for it until the mid season and then it got good and the characters were more interesting & enjoyable. Akiva Goldsman, Bryan Burk, Julia Cho, JR Orci and David H Goodman wrote most of the episodes I enjoyed.

That said, I actually don't care for Trek in film format. I think Trek shines as a weekly series. The last time I walked out of a theatre having just seen a Trek film that I was wholly satisfied with was TUC. Even FC wasn't that great with the all too short battle, the introduction of a Queen who behaved like a scorned femme fatale, the unnecessary retconning of Locutus' purpose, the cartoonish nature of Cochrane etc.

It would be nice if we had a new series since there isn't a whole lot interesting on tv these days. I don't know that I would want it to take place in this new timeline though and I doubt the cast is going to jump to the smallscreen. I wouldn't mind it set in the latter part of the 24th century or the early 25th century on a starship. I'd like it to be heavily serialized with a season long arc each year. As much as I love Lost, I don't think I'd want it in that format rather more of a traditional serialized drama.

I heard Bryan Fuller was interested in producing a Trek series. I'm not too crazy about that. I didn't like the other shows he has been in charge of and his return to Heroes in season three didn't exactly rejuvenate it. HIs Trek scripts have been hit-or-miss.

I'd love to get some weekly Trek again. Turning this movie into a series would be awesome, but I'd settle for the adventures of Robau Prime.

My favorite Lost seasons are easily the first 2. As for Fringe, I think it was great from the beginning. Frankly, I didn't even know there was a new Trek movie until the last minute. I'm more of a sci-fi fan than a strickly Trek fans. So I was really surprise to see those 3 involves in one of the best TV franchise of all time! I liked Fringe from the start. The equation, Safe, The cure, In which we meet Mr. Jones, etc. Are still among my favorites! A series handled by this team would be great.

No. Except for Mccoy and maybe Pike. The rest of the characters werent played very well. Scotty and Chekov were now comedic buffons. Spock was an emotional mess.

No-leave them on the big screen. NuTrek would not work as episodic television. No reason they could not do a series (in the old or new universe) with other folks in between the films. Not that this is likely to happen, but I can dream, can't I?

Quite the contrary. I think Trek works MUCH MUCH better in TV format. Its much easier to make good sci-fi stories and drama (and mystery, explorations) on TV. While the movie format seems more appropriate for action.

And what was Shatner's Kirk like when he was 25? What WOULD he have been like if raised without his father's influence? What would he have been like if he also knew his father was killed on the day JT was born?

I'm not. I eagerly anticipate the next high testosterone sequel that will not be bogged down with reintroduction of the characters, nor will it have corny scenes, like driving a Corvette that is 350 years old at that time.

Eh, I'm really torn on this one. On the one hand it would be great having a weekly dose of NuTrek, but if it wasn't for the ENT,INS,NEM being so terrible I would be on the go ahead side right away. Right now, NuTrek is a child, it still need a couple of more of the fundamentals before she can tackle the little screen.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Robau/George Kirk show on TV. but leave the main guys on the silver screen. they belong there.
