Anyone know why they switched uni colours?

Not if they were going to put them in gold originally.
:vulcan:

As I said, it was a combination of both theories. There were explanatory "Starlog" interviews with William Ware Theiss (who worked on TNG Season one) at the time, and who was making things mesh with Fletcher's work on the movies.

See, now, if TNG had used those uniforms from the very beginning, rather than the tighter, collarless ones they started with, I think the colors wouldn't have switched. Stewart and Frakes look fine in gold there, as does Spiner in blue.
Am I the only one who liked the older tight spandex uniforms?
I know that they were uncorfomtable, so it's good that they've changed them, but Frakes, Spiner, Stewart, Burton were very fit then and i think they looked very good in them.
Especially Data was very cute in them. :D

I don't think they would have looked too bad wearing the "correct" colors. Although I agree that it probably would have looked far worse in those Season 1 single-piece jobs.
