Anyone here ever play field hockey?

I played it for about 6 years when I was younger. Really enjoyed it.

Doubt I would survive 10 minutes if I picked up a stick today!

Not me personally, but my wife did in High School. That was a pretty vicious game for something that locally is a "girls sport".

It's popular in the UK, where it's called 'hockey'. In fact I think that's what it's called in the Olympics.

I certainly wasn't trying to imply that it was "girly" in any way. I'm sorry if it came across that way. What I was trying to say was that when I first saw the sport I was impressed by it and surprised that it was a girls sport here.
