Anyone else on the BBS for years yet have a low rank?

propita

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Relatively speaking, that is.

I've been hear for 8 yrs but only a commodore. I guess I usually don't post that much. Though I do read a lot of the threads, I usually don't have much to contribute (even sometimes when I do post :shifty:).

So, rollcall for all of us relatively-low-ranking relatively-long-timers.

been here since 05 and just made captain (no complaints) I sometimes go months without posting

I lurked around for a few years before joining in 2007, I look at a lot of threads but don't really post much either, I'm not one to post if someone else has made a similar point earlier in the thread (except in this case obviously ;-)

Been around since April 2001 and am only a Fleet captain. I need around 400 more posts to to Commodore, but even then my post numbers are somewhat inflated as I was playing the movie game for awhile and posted 2-3 a day.

But I generally post when I have some pertinent to say and not just to see my name or raise the hit count.

I've been here for around 9 years, and I'm still a Commie. I think I've been a Commie for the last 5 or 6 of those years. I don't post often, but I'm here daily.

I joined in 2005 after lurking a long time. I only started posting with some regularity recently, so my post count is low. I still don't post every day.

I am married, so I don't flirt. I don't spam except in the lounge game threads (and that's part of the point, I think). Like Votd, if someone has already made a similar point in an interesting thread, I usually don't respond with my own post.

Propita, I don't think of you as being of low rank. Your profile shows you posting an average of 1.07 messages a day. That's more than twice what I post.

So I guess I'M one of the ones w/ low rank. But I've been here for only months, not years.

I've been here since January 2002 and hardly post, so I'm still Captain. I visit the BBS every day though, I wish I had more to tell.

I've been here for 4 years and I'm still a fleet captain. I was a lurker for probably 4-5 years before that. Like others have said, I only post when I feel I have something worth saying, and if someone else hasn't made the point before. I don't care that I don't have a high rank like the spammers; I like to think that quality of post is also important.

Been here since 2005, but I try to post only when it adds something to the topic.

I'm not really interested in the status symbol of being a higher rank though, so it all works out.

Still a Rear Admiral after nearly 7 years.

To be honest, I did take a break after the end of Enterprise and there's nothing really much to post on these days.

Joined in November 2001, but I've been a rear admiral since 2005 (lost 400 posts awhile back during the great purge a few years ago or else I'd be a vice admiral by now). I never was one to post more than two or three times a day and frequently I don't even do that...

Hallowe'en 2004 was when I first signed up here.
My username change then came on 06/06/06.

Despite the occasional large absences from the place (at last count I had spent a total of 14 months away) I've just made Admiral. While I think I might have got there sooner, I think I've made the most of it. :D

Member since December 28, 2002... 7,265 posts. Guess I'm a far cry from lurker status...
