Any Xena:WP fans on the boards?

Kind of a shame we never got to have an episode with Poseidon. It would have been cool! But also very costly.

Well, we actually had two episodes with Poseidon. In the season 5 "motherhood", we saw him try to harpoon Xena, Gabrielle and newly reborn Eve. Instead we saw him die at the hands of a wicked warrior princess' backhand when she diverted the godly blasts of Hades and (?) Demios into Poseidon's chest.

But for a "real" ep, we need to look to the end of season 2's The Lost Mariner, where we see the form of Poseidon stand before Xena and her shipmates as he tries to bribe her to leave the cursed ship. Later we hear him try to bribe Rama the lost mariner himself, to turn Xena over to him. That time he was just a voice and a green glow in the night time ocean to represent the god. The final interaction at the whirlpool in the day was just his voice.

I thought I already posted this, but actually its a "part II".

Sorry to go off topic here but that "Jane Bond" article bugged me. I think a female Bond could be cool, but they picked almost all American actresses, except Emilia Clarke, and I really think if you're going to go so far as make Bond a woman, then you at least need to leave her British. I would say making him American would be OK, and making him a woman would be OK, but if you're going to do both then there's not point even making her Bond.

I see your point, except we have to remember that Sean Connery was Scottish, George Lazenby was Australian, Timothy Dalton was Welsh, and Pierce Brosnan was Irish. In that vein, you need to remember that our Warrior Princess is a New Zealander, and Cate Blanchett is an Australian.

I thought all of the Bond actors were English. I forgot Blanchett was on the list, and I honestly thought she was English, and I thought Lawless was American.

It's okay JD. When I first started watching Xena, I also thought the same thing. Lucy does a very convincing American accent.

A lot of the actors on Xena are Kiwis.

Here's Lucy's real accent.

I've heard it so often now, it sounds natural. (Go to 5:30)

What I'm still not used to, however, is Kevin Smith's real accent / voice.

Someone else who would make a good Jane Bond is Jaime Murray of Dexter, Spartacus, Warehouse 13 and Defiance fame. She's also a Brit, so she comes by the accent naturally.

I absolutely :adore: Lucy's natural accent!

And yes, it took me a while to get used to Kevin's. Only because I thought his American accent was so flawless that I couldn't believe he wasn't an American.

I think I have seen some interviews with Lucy using her natural accent now that I think about it.
Did she do an American accent in BSG?
When do we start seeing more of the gods in Xena and Hercules? I watched all of Season 1 of Hercules and I was surprised we didn't get any in person appearances by any of the gods.
I'm going to taking a short break from Xena to work through some Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Star Trek episodes and movies that tie into some books I'm planning on reading.

So I guess I have definitely seen her with her natural accent since I watched BSG regularly from start to finish. It was actually the first time I ever saw Lucy Lawless in anything.
I haven't watched any more sense Cradle of Hope.

There aren't too many Gods/Goddesses in the first season (more in season 2) but Ares starts showing up a little bit, starting with episode 6 "The Reckoning."

Yet another poll, and I doubt Xena will come out on top this time since she's competing with about 50 other female characters that have graced our TV's since the year 2000.

Don't get your panties in a twist, Gabrielle, that you aren't in the running. Jane Rizzoli didn't make the cut either, while Maura Isles did ! Should we express umbrage that her title (Dr.) wasn't included even though it WAS included for Dr. Watson?

I had a momentary crisis of faith, when I saw Felicity Smoak's name on the list (who the heck nominated Iris West???) but quickly came to my senses.

I voted and am pleased to see that at least Xena isn't at the bottom of the proverbial heap (she's currently " in the top 10")... but I wonder where all these Vampire lovers are coming from????

And the rebooted Xena as portrayed by..... Joe Pesci??? https://twitter.com/OKBJGM/status/744745570787483648

I didn't realize Xena ended in 2001, I thought it was long over by the turn of the millenium.

I was about to say this cos-player is "so" wrong.... then I remembered the ep "If the Shoe Fits".

Go to minute 40... when asked what icon / superhero each woman wanted to play, Ming-Na Wen answered "I want to be Lucy Lawless" and Melissa Benoist agreed.

Here's one websites' review of what we know "so far" of the reboot.

https://creators.co/@addicted2arrow/4023766#_ga=1.221583711.691572383.1471811604

And here's their opinion on how important Lucy herself is to defining the role of Xena.

Hmmm, I somehow missed this in June.

http://mentalfloss.com/article/68156/11-fierce-facts-about-xena-warrior-princess

I already knew most of these so called "facts" (The anti Krishna thing actually wasn't started by proponents of the religion, but rather by a local crazy guy who wasn't connected to the religion) however I didn't know of the scrapped Wonder Women / Xena crossover that was in the works.

Now that I know Linda Carter will be on Supergirl this season, I want Lucy cast as her Secretary of Defense!

Here's what happens when a former elementary school fan revists Xena as an adult.

Hmm, just 11 months old and already over 22,000 views.

Not too shabby.

Here's a new "Xena" opening credit sequence that you wouldn't expect.

Linda is right... for the most part Xena ISN'T classy, especially when compared to the Amazon Princess raised in isolation. We wouldn't expect a character spawned from the evil she was to be classy...

... then again, no one said she was the underside of a boot that tramped across the continent.

One wonders what Linda felt "Xena" got away with 20 years after WW that they couldn't do?

It certainly wasn't the outfit, since Xena's covered more than WW's.

The violence?
