Any Xena:WP fans on the boards?

I'm still pissed they didn't cast Lucy Lawless as Hippolyta in Wonder Woman, that would have been perfect. Maybe if they incorporate the Amazons and Diana into the Arrowverse at some point.....

Considering all the Spartacus actors showing up on Arrow and Flash, its only a matter of time before they tempt her to visit one or both of their sets.

Now... who should she play?

How about Nyssa's big sister?

When did we see the young Talia? Was that at a reasonable time for her to age into Lucy Lawless in the present? I guess they could just have her on Legends of Tomorrow episode set in the future.
Sadly she's pretty busy with some of the former Xena crew over on Ash vs Evil Dead, so it would only be a recurring role.
Have any of you seen DC's animated Justice League: The New Frontier movie with Lucy Lawless voicing Wonder Woman?

JL: New Frontier is a great movie (like almost all of them, outside of the New 52 based ones and Gotham Knights). Lawless was a great voice for Wonder Woman, I wish we'd heard her do it again.

We saw young Talia in the late 50's, but I could see her sipping from a vial of water she stole from the Lazarus pit to make her look 17 years younger, so Lucy could easily play her (born 1968).

As for AvED, they only shoot 10 half hour eps so I'm sure she could fit a recurring role, maybe as a foil for her sister.

I haven't seen that Superman/WW/JL movie, but I have seen that clip before.

It's been a while, so I watched a few of the Callisto episodes in a row over the last couple of days. my god, Hudson was wonderful! She was clearly having an absolute blast playing gleeful evil. I watched A Necessary Evil yesterday - "Here comes trouble!"

It's been a long while since I watched the show, but I admit I was never a huge fan of Callisto. That's not a criticism against Hudson, by any means, but I just tended to feel Callisto was too one dimensional in how she was written. She went evil because of what Xena did in her own evil days, and unlike Xena she never bothered to let the pain go or wonder if her revenge was something her parents would have wanted. I might be open to change my mind if I were to rewatch the series nowadays, but I'm not sure.

Some of those fight scenes in the clips you posted were pretty cool. For some reason I was expecting Star Trek TOS Kirk Fu, Batman '66 types of campy, cheesy fight scenes.

Xena's fight scenes are usually pretty aggressive, if a bit "parkour-ish.

Callisto vs Gabrielle. See.. she doesn't have to use her sword all the time to inflict a wound.

Yes, I just watched those eps. And I was definitely amazed at how perfect Hudson's impression of Lucy-as-Xena was.

I basically made my own boxed set by ripping all the Callisto and Hope episodes of both Xena an Herc from the DVDs. So I have the whole 20-episode saga on a thumb drive, for those slow days at work. :)

I just watched the first episode today, and that was a lot of fun. It was a nice introduction the Gabriel, and gave us a good feel for both of the characters. The fight scene at the end between Xena and Draco at the end was pretty good.
I also got a bit of a kick out of seeing the Star Wars prequels Jay Laga'aia as Draco.
Did Argo end up changing sexes? She called them "boy" here, but I though you guys and the wiki called them her.

Yeah this is my first time through. I did watch Hercules first season a while back too, and I figure I'll probably rotate back and forth now.
Oh, animals like that change sexes all the time in shows. In M*A*S*H Potter's horse started out as male in it's first appearance before it became a mare named Sophie later.
I'm assuming probably just hadn't given Argo much thought at that point.

Yeah, Argo was referred to as a "boy" in that scene near the blind Cyclops bridge, but after that she was always referred to as "she".

Here's a strange "tribute" to Argo.

Here's a parody trailer for a Xena / Argo movie. (Gabrielle appears to be the villain)

ETA: Here's an article, photos / video of Lucy at a con in Australia this weekend.

That's why I've always thought that Callisto was an interesting character. She was never able to let go of the pain Xena caused her, driven insane by hatred and revenge.

I felt for her a lot throughout the show.

Watched the second episode today, and it was good too.
So is Xena an actual princess or is "Warrior Princess" just a nickname?

It's just a nickname, given to her by her army during her "evil days." There is another explanation given in season 3 but I can't say because, spoilers.

Thanks, I kind of figured that was the case once I saw her mother worked at a bar.
