Any reason why Disco isn't 4K?

Pretty much. Though I’d not be surprised if it’s shot with a 2K camera.

Similar thing happened with Enterprise, it was filmed at 1080p (or higher), but the FX was all done at 720p.
I'm thinking about picking up a Laserdisc player for a few movies I want.
Weren't they in 480 even in the beginning?
Only reason I didn’t do the LaserDisc shuffle was cost. But maybe some day. Hell, even reel to reel is making a comeback in audio. If I wait long enough, my wax cylinder collection will be hip again.
On DVD, but they did air in HD in places that had HD back then.
I have the Blu-ray set. Season 1 has 480p up-rezzed to 1080p effects, not a proper HD original master. I believe S3 onwards has 720p effects. Been watching with my 12 year old son, time permitting, and we’re halfway through S1.
It's not only shot in 4K, it's mastered in Dolby Vision HDR with Dolby Atmos audio too. It's not broadcast in 4K because CBS All Access isn't in 4K, and they've likely not allowed Netflix to show it internationally in 4K either. Yet.
Great. Now I'll have to buy new eyes.
Or just get some Lorca injections.

They filmed in UHD [Ultra-high-definition television also known as Ultra HD]
which is 3.2k using Arri Alexa cameras. Since the shows original aspect ration is 2:1 This is 4k in the camera.

It is the same monitor overlay as the Arri Alexa camera.
see other shots from other productions using the industry-standard Arri Alexa (XT or Classic) camera . Here:1 & 2.
The first link says "A look through the Alexa 65 EVF" which looks almost identical.
We see the Monitor is displaying LOG-C Gamma setting and the Electronic Viewfinder is using a Rec.709 LUT (Look-up Table) .
They are shooting at the industry-standard cinematic frame rate of 23.976 fps and we are looking at Camera "A" and it is recording.

which is 3.2k SYS which would be Apple ProRes codec. Since we saw the clapper slate of the Visual FX at the start of the video this may be a Visual FX-only camera shooting footage for use in monitors on the bridge to be used in-frame of actors while they are actually shooting a scene.
I'd like to see a behind-the-scenes monitor-shot of live-action actors to confirm all is being shot at 3.2k UHD resolution.
So it is safe to say all cameras are probably shooting in the same resolution for a UHD deliverable. I do wonder if they will use some an Arri ALEXA 65 a large format camera with 6.5K resolution which is what Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was shot on for some Trek DSC Visual FX work?
Which is why I probably won't replace my (now 7+ year old) Panasonic plasma until it straight craps out. OLED is the only thing with picture quality as good, and I'm not spending that kind of money unless I have to.
