Any good sci fi comic series out there?

Don't know about good US-SciFi comics (at least not if superheroes don't count). The French have been doing really good SciFi comics, like "Universal War One" (which is a real masterpiece and one of my favorite comics of all time) and "Orbital".
I'd broadly second that comment. I checked the Metabarons out to get a sense of what Jodoworsky's Dune would have been like, and judging from that, pretty bloody weird.
I really liked The Dormant Beast, though. It's about a man who was born in 1993... in Bosnia, but it's now several decades later in a cyberpunk future. He has an incredible memory, and as the story progresses he remembers more and more from his very first week of living in an orphange as the war raged all over that country.

Universal War One and Orbital have been published in English translations by Marvel and Cinebooks respectively. Another European sci-fi comic is The Incal, which has been published in English by Humanoids. Fear Agent is an American sci-fi comic that started at Image and is currently published by Dark Horse.
Aren't most comics sci fi?
Warren Ellis has done a few. Orbiter (not to be confused with Orbital, which I did), and Ocean.

Heavy Water from kick start comics. Picked up the book/gn at Walmart for 3 bucks! Nazis, time travel, and some history to make a good story.
I just finished this a couple weeks ago. I loved it, and my wife, who normally has no interest in comic books, devoured it as well.
