Any chance the Discovery will accidentally jump into the Kelvin universe?

I really hope they don't end the season with some absurd reset button like that.

It's not likely to happen...right now. If the recent rumors of a potential CBS/Paramount re-merger under the Viacom umbrella are true, there's a better-than-average chance that it could happen.

Should it, though? I'm on the fence with that one.

Any re-merger may take years, so since STD has been confirmed only for one more season, chances of actual Kelvin universe appearing on STD are slim to none (unless season 2 gets postponed until 2020 or something)

Nonsense, discovery will last seven seasons. Now that this show has prove to be successful CBS has no reason to cancel it.

Only one more season thus far. They renew things on a season-by-season basis.

Exactly, so until 3rd season is announced we don’t know if there will be more than 2.
well, I give you the benefit of doubt that English is not your first language and you just placed the 'only' in the wrong place, not knowing that the changed sytnax changed the meaning too

I know exactly how to get a reaction out of people. :)

Don't be obtuse. You know very well how you worded that. It's silly. Find me a single program that is renewed for more than one season in advance.
The only show I know of where this has happened was Big Bang Theory, just last year. Aside from that, nadda. Possibly first time ever, actually, and probably more of an aberration than a new phenomenon in the industry.

And yes...looks like intentional trolling to me, too. Mods are near at hand, I'm sure. :)

I didn't know that about Big Bang Theory. I've never seen it. That might backfire on them, though.

Modern Family was renewed for two seasons after the end of last season. The current season is the first of those and the next season is expected to the be final for the series.

I predict it will - ratings are tanking already to dangerous levels, given the actors' salaries.

Anyway, Orange is the New Black has been recommissioned for three seasons by Netflix.
