Well I am going to "whine": it deserved far more acting nominations, especially in Best Supporting Actress category. Seems like you just have to show up on the set of The White Lotus to get nominated as it got a ridiculous FOUR nominations in that category alone. I enjoy that show but nobody nominated was as impressive Genevieve O'Reilly, Elizabeth Dullau or Adria Arjona. And Diego Luna should have got best Lead Actor nominated as well. So there.

Depressing but they've long had a blind spot for consistently terrific acting performances (see Rhea Seehorn). Weirdly, much as I like Whittaker I think his character is one of Andor's weak points because they don't really know how to use him. He's just there.

They picked Whittaker because he's the big name in the supporting cast.

The real tragedy is Stellan Skelsgard's snub for the first season.

I'm mystified by the fact that despite putting Whitaker in four Andor episodes and various episodes of Rebels and Bad Batch, they still haven't explained what happened to his legs!

Yeah, I'm another person who's shocked to see so few acting nominations, if I were involved, I would have at least given ones to Genevieve O'Reilly, Adria Arjona, and Diego Luna. Whitacker did a good job, but he didn't get anywhere near the kind of material to work with that those three got.
As much as I would love to see it get some of the big awards, I just can't imagine the Academy giving them to a Star Wars series, no matter how good it is. It's gotten better in the last few years, but this kind of stuff still seems to be looked down on by the high brow crowd that give out these kind of awards.

The thing we need to remember is, genre shows rarely get any recognition at the mainstream awards outside of the technical categories. Yes, it's gotten a bit better in recent years, but it's still common enough which is why I consider it impressive Andor got the nominations it did outside of the technical categories and see no need to lament all the nominations it should have gotten but didn't.

Disney's For Your Consideration page for the show doesn't list the actor nominations by specific episodes, or include whatever clips they may have submitted, so maybe they did.

It would be impossible to watch every episode of every TV show for last season, but there's also an inherent bias to what you would watch as a voter. If you're an avid viewer of ER and NYPD Blue but don't watch Homicide, it's going to be harder for you to vote for Andre Braugher.

It's gotten better, but there's still a stigma against taking sci-fi seriously in Hollywood, and Star Wars especially so.

For me, Andor once again had some of the best acting performances in television this year (and in recent times) - yet the cast got a total of ONE Emmy nomination (for ‘Guest Actor’ - Forest Whittaker; congratulations to him). No nominations for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, or Best Supporting Actress.
