And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Netflix will spend 8 billion dollars this year on their original shit and honestly how many shows can people name that Netflix makes?
Oooh, challenge accepted, off the top of my head:

- Stranger Things
- Grace & Frankie
- Big Mouth
- Sex Education
- Patriot Act
- Dark
- Umbrella Academy

Co-productions / Netflix Originals for international market:

- Frontier
- Star Trek: Discovery
- The Last Kingdom
- Titans
- Ultraman

Add to that upcoming Originals like the Pacific Rim animated show, The Witcher, all those Mark Millar adaptations. And let's not forget their expansion on Original movies, like Bright, The Ballad of Buster Whatshisname (you know, that Coen Bros. western thing), and movies they bought off of other studios like Annihilation and Mowgli.

So, yeah, 8 billion is a ridiculous amount of money, but it's not like they don't do stuff with it.

I honestly feel like their series are of higher caliber than their movies for the most part. It's like they have two different teams with different ideas of what constitutes good content.

The Netflix shows I watch:

Stranger Things
One Day at a Time
Black Mirror
The Umbrella Academy
Grace and Frankie
Orange is the New Black
Disenchantment
The Crown
Russian Doll
BoJack Horseman
Carmen Sandiego
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj

...and that's just off the top of my head. Oh, plus many of the stand-up specials they do.

The Unbreakble Kimmy Schmidt just ended but I would count it as well. I also hear "Ozark" is good and then you have "Altered Carbon" and "Maniac." Also "Lost in Space."

Oh, I couldn't stand Ozark. It started out well enough, but completely devolves into crazy stupid shit. It wants to be Breaking Bad but doesn't have the writing to back it up. By the end of the season 2 finale, I felt like I was so done with it. By the end, I didn't care about the characters, their reasonings and motivations or the situation they had landed themselves in.

I'm sad to hear Criminal Minds is finishing. Yes, there hopefully aren't as many real serial killers as they have apprehended, but I like the characters. It even managed to weather three major cast upheavals, on top of the cast rotation. The fictional BAU team will be missed.

Suits never appealed to me. I just saw a modern LA Law remake (loved LA Law!).

What has been happening on Bull involving Michael Weatherly?

Beverly Hills 90210 is returning because of course it is, with Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling all returning.

However, it's not the same show:

The event series comes with a twist, however. The actors will not be playing their characters from the show, but rather heightened versions of themselves. Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for more drama than the reboot itself.
Um...what?

It sounds like someone saw that "Five(ish) Doctors Reboot" comedy short and thought it would make a great idea for a real TV series.

There is Veronica Mars spinoff where the guy who plays Dick wants his own spinoff. It reminds me of that. But that wasn't watched by anyone on streaming platform no one knows the name of.

You have ALL the people back, and on FOX and that's the shit idea they do? God help us.

Also Brooklyn 99 has been renewed by NBC for a 7th season.

My take is the actors will be playing themselves and trying to get a reboot and of course crazy Hollywood antics will keep complicating their ability to get it made. I assuming we will have younger actors playing new versions of their old characters. Then you will have some Gen X vs the new group of teens whose name I forgot what it is. I know they aren't millenials anymore but I can't think of the new name at the moment.
