And the Next Cancelled Show is...

First cancelled new show? I'll put my money on Pitch. The local stations have been advertising it to death and that usually isn't a good sign.

I'll go with Speechless. My family saw a sneak preview of the premiere and they came away horrified by it. It features a kid who is in a wheelchair and can't speak. My mom works with children who have speech issues and other mental and physical disabilities and said it was just awful, they got so much wrong and it wouldn't have been entertaining even if they had.

Really, my take away was "Sitcom, after sitcom, why do Minnie's kids never sound British?"

I've been fascinated by Dina Spybey-Waters since Greg the Bunny.

So I was annoyed that one of my special dream girls was a misdirect before they brought in a dude to fill her slot, not that Cedric hasn't been intensely entertaining over the years.

I think the first canceled show will be a sitcom. The reviews for pretty much all of them have sucked.

Or Pitch, the first female in MLB. That should will either be a pretty good hit or a complete flop.

I noticed Roadies is cancelled.

Which I thought was superb.

Oh? This is interesting.

Roadies' cancellation is the third music-related series casualty this summer. HBO's Vinyl and FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll were both recently axed after failing to catch on with viewers.

Would help if they maybe did more to promote them. I vaguely remember hearing a bit about Roadies, but never heard about the one on FX.

It's Cameron Crow who made Almost Famous.

Roadies is Almost Famous in Present Day but with a girl as the hero. Actually there are two points to focus on for leading role potential. The 20-something girl who loves music and can't cope with how lucky she is, and the 40-something Road Manager (her boss, no they have other love interests.) who is all chewed up from being on the road too long, trying to refind the wonder.

It was very heavily promoted here in Canada, which usually means its not going to last. I don't understand how they are going to keep the concept fresh. I applaud Weatherly for getting out of NCIS and trying to be the leading man, but from what I can tell, this wasn't the right role for him.

It has a NCIS actor, it be watched by the braindead old people who watch NCIS.

That said Fes from That 70s Show is on it and he can do whatever he wants to me.

I find it interesting that the 9pm Thursday timeslot was always a big one, huge hit shows were on then.

Yet if I had to guess Pitch or Notorious would be the first shows canceled this year.

Pitch is pretty good. Really well made. Coming of age story, breaking the glass ceiling... Stuff. Haven't got around to episode two yet, but it shows promise... And it might be Supernatural?

Notorious is the News Room for Dummies, or at least Piper Perabo has the same Job as Emily Mortimer, so the pieces should be movi... They're both less hot versions of Lou Grant. ;) However in Notorious, they are all supposedly smart people who take turns being constantly surprised by a deluge of unforeseen changes of circumstance that leave them scrambling like deer caught in headlights.

Pitch will be the first show canceled, because you like it, it's well made, different.... so no one else watches it.

Older shows that might get canceled soon, Rosewood. I never got why Fox renewed it, everyone saw it was only a 'hit' because of Empire. I guess they really want the next Bones / House but that's not it.

Maybe Fox should just cancel their whole line up. They are getting CW numbers.
