The show had a 4 year plan, but really each year would just show the invasion in a different place. Like season 2 would be Hollywood. So really it's fine that it's cancel.

Taking it's place is a giant meteor show!

Just a rumor. It was renewed for at least 4 more years with an option for 4 more. The current show runner has been canned and will be out by January. Just as well, he ran it into the ground.
