The new season premieres tonight. It looks good.

Williamson did a great job bringing a 90s sensibility to the 80s genre movies. It seems like AHS is trying to do more of a deep dive into the 80s movies but it might've made more buzz if they had did it a couple of years earlier and been at the front of the recent 80s revival.Nobody's a bigger fan of ASYLUM than I am. (Lange was fantastic.) I just can't get behind tributes or homages to slasher films unless they're of PSYCHO quality. (I never thought HALLOWEEN or CHAINSAW were particularly inventive.) Kevin Williamson's already milked that tactic to death anyhow.
But that is what they are supose to do. As a kid I once watched Friday the 13 hiding behind a couch with my sister laughing at me and trying to scare me. JasonWell I hope the story will soon segue from its 'expected' slasher format into something scary but with less gratuitous violence.
I thoroughly enjoyed all AHS incarnations esp Hotel and Murder House and I will stick this one out.
The thing is; I have never been able to watch a complete slasher movie because they scare me too much.
I think we are going to see some twists. Like the black guy coming back as a ghost like that other guy. He could be killed over and over or end up the hero who kills the bad guys. JasonOk. so Rita the nurse isn't the real Rita the nurse and she helped Mr. Jangles with his escape because hse is studying serial killers. And Montana is working with the Night Stalker. Crazy. And of course the first guy to die (among the camp people) is the African American guy. This is hitting all the tropes this season.
