Am I the Only One Who Desperately Craves a Captain Shaw Series?

Shaw fluctuates with me. Last episode I was concerned he was going to be killed off and in the episode I didn’t care if he was killed off. I’m just hot and cold on the guy. Mostly cold.

Same here, I just can't rally behind the character as others have. He's fine in small doses, but otherwise he's abrasive, belligerent, thoughtless and uninspiring.

He's a character I could have had fun with for a bit if not for how he treated Seven - I actually enjoyed him nuking Picard and Riker for their presumptuousness (for a lot of the same reasons I enjoyed Clancy doing it), even if it did go over the top. And him being the captain of an exploration vessel and not really being able to handle "weird shit" very well knocked a few points off too. Like, my man, are you sure you're in the right job?

Captain House. I'll pass.

Maybe if they leaned more on the grizzled veteran skipper trop, and made him more like Quint from "Jaws," it might work. As he is so far, he's falling flat for me. He and Tarka from DISCO feel like shallow attempts at a Marvel antihero.

It would be cool for a Shaw/Seven show in the vein of The X-Files, where you have the believer (Seven) and the skeptic (Shaw) playing off each other on missions.

Yeah. You heard of Kirk, Picard, Pike, Sisko, Janeway, Archer,, Burnham?

Morons.

*this plays best if you imagine it being like Princess Bride*

Also, sarcastic for those who might take it seriously.

I like Shaw a lot but crave a series of his own?

Ehhhhhhhhhh.

I'd like a 25th century series at some point with new characters that don't have to rely on Sir Patrick Stewart. Shaw as the lead? Not sold at all on that.

Think Shaw should appear as a chief engineer in Legacy and not stay as a captain.

If Legacy is about the Titan or the Enterprise F or G, i'd rather see
Data
or Seven as the Captain, with the other being the first officer.

As much as I like Shaw and his wit, he really doesn't come across as leading man material. I'm not entirely sure about Seven either. Both would make great supporting characters to a Jack Crusher lead, though.
