Am I only the one who likes the intro montage

I liked the "In a Mirror, Darkly" version better.

And even better than that? The same credits, but with Rammstein's "Links 2 3 4" as the music.

I always liked the montage... it really set the tone for the show by showing mankind's slow journey toward the stars.

It was the theme song I hated. However. As I grow older, the song has a special place in my heart, and I've found myself wearing out the full version of the song (especially over the past couple of days). It might mean an -ENTERPRISE- rewatch is in order ;)

When the "Star Trek" name was re-instated, and the tempo of the song sped up, I liked it better.
The only thing missing, I felt, was a the very last moment.
As NX-01 is warping away, and the song ends, I feel Alexander Courage's TOS fanfare (the "ping, ping, ping, ping") should have echoed in as the scene fades to black.
As a nod for what's to come. Looking forward.

I actually think the tempo change was not for the better, esp. given the darker tone of the third season. But the biggest problem was with the montage itself. Where was Sputnik, Gargarin etc.. Surely those where notbale achievements.

I, for one, have always loved the montage and the song. I think it always worked in an uplifting, optimistic, Trek-like way. I also even forgive the use of a song, because the earlier setting of ENT I thought suited the use of a pop song as opposed to the vastly superior orchestral pieces used for the other shows [but which wouldn't have suited ENT as well, being closer to our time-period than the 24th century].

The song is sappy and sickly sweet but, as I said, I quite like it and I enjoy it if you interpret it as Earth finally having gotten over its many [many, many,..] problems ['It's been a long road...'] and now being able to journey to the stars to explore as a united species ['I can reach any star']. Particularly with the old evils having been eliminated/subdued [capitalism, wars, hatred, greed, genocides, fascism, religion etc] :

"And I can feel a change in the wind right now.
Nothing's in my way.
And they're not gonna hold me down no more.
No they're not gonna hold me down."

It's all up to your taste and how you interpret it though. I know many people hated it and felt it was an insult to Trek. Aside from the lack of 'Star Trek' on the title card at first [which DID annoy me] I thought the song was good.

I find it underwhelming and I'm relatively indifferent to it. For me most intros are often like that, one hears it week in, week out and grows tired of it.

I think the montage is fine, but the song works better as an instrumental like the version used on Broken Bow's end credits. That's the one I wish they had used on the beginning for all four seasons.

I adore the intro montage. Think it's one of the most inspiring 1:20 of film. It's also the single worst intro music to any Trek ever, and not a particularly good pop song for that matter.

The title sequence should have been dramatic--the call that ENT was the catapult for great adventures ahead...instead, it was a slapped together montage with most limp, inapplicable song in history. The producers clearly knew what message they were sending--and it was to be as revisionist-Trek as possible.

One mans trash is another mans treasure. Whereas you see it as the producers sending a message that the series would be revisionist, I see it as not slapped together, but an homage to the past and a view of our own real world recent accomplishments. I;m afraid my opinion is diametrically opposed to yours - I loved the intro montage, both for reasons stated and that it resonated with a specific time in my life.

I know Enterprise's theme song was criticized, but am the only who likes the Montage? I mean the theme of exploration with the actual footage and what not?

I actually love the original intro before they... jazzed it up.

I thought it was beautiful actually, one of the only things about Enterprise I actually liked.
