Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

"A long time ago"

I know. If Jesus though is telling the story 3 million years in the future about something that happened 2 million years in the past then that would qualify as "A long time ago." I mean our distant future is our even more distant future's past.

Jesus isn't telling the story. It's not that kind of story, kid.

Why not? I mean if the monkeys are curious about what humans were like 1 million years ago, perhaps Jesus would tell them the tale of Star Wars because he thinks they would like it. Of course why Jesus choose to come back to a Earth, now controlled by monkeys is a tale best told by Monkey Jesus in other 3 billion years from the time human Jesus returned.

By then the monkeys have also moved out into space and now Earth is controlled by self aware cockroaches and they want to know what life was like, from when monkeys use to control earth so Monkey Jesus tells the tale about the time human Jesus returned and told the monkeys the story of Star Wars.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death.

I think the monkeys would find Star Wars more fun. Though it's best to not tell them the story of King Kong.

i wonder how long ago and what galaxy far far away was star wars based in

as in was it in the year 1977 bc and was it in a galaxy farther on the oppiside sides of earth that facing outer space

Portillo made it a point to really highlight all of the elements of production that stand out as major enhancements to how Lucasfilm Animation was producing work previously, particularly the “the animation, the lighting, the effects, the matte paintings, the lighting concepts, the assets.”

“When Filoni kicked off the Maul show, which was after Covid, people were getting back into the swing of coming back to work, but he said, ‘You all need to pull yourself out of complacency, you all need to pull yourself out of your comfort level. Being uncomfortable is a good feeling, and it leads you to greater things. So, create something that is an upgrade of what we're used to doing,’ both in the animation style such as the body mechanics, facial animation, we updated all of our body rigs, and then all the lighting, everything,” she explained. “When Filoni watched one of our episodes last week, his comment was, ‘Wow, you guys, you are actually creating cinema’. He was proud of what Lucasfilm Animation has achieved with this show.”

Portillo added, “All of it is an upgrade from what we've done, and even from the Bad Batch, even from Tales of the Underworld, it's an upgrade, and we just completed Tales of the Underworld. We're releasing Maul in 2026, but we're still working on it.”

I got the newest Star Wars Blueprints book for Christmas, some neat stuff in there.

Like the Blockade runner set being labelled 'Rebel Starfighter', and the escape pod being "Life pod of pirate ship" because in early version of the movie it was the Falcon's escape pod.

the name for the First Order trooper transport on the blueprints was 'White Delivery Van' lmao

For the last few days I've been listening to the audio version of Dooku: Jedi Lost, and while I'm enjoying the story, the recast voices are really bugging me. The guy doing Yoda isn't to bad, but the actors for Dooku, and Ventress really don't really sound that much like the characters. Especially the guy playing Dooku, sounds absolutely nothing like Christopher Lee or even Corey Burton's versions of the character. The Ventress actress seems to be trying to sound like her, but isn't doing that great of a job.
I'm a little shocked too, because you'd think it wouldn't have been that hard to get the actors from the animated series to come do this too, since it's more or less the same kind of voice work they did for the shows.
Is it something to do with Random House only being able to use their own actors? Because I noticed it seems to be mostly the same people who did the The High Republic: Tempest Runner.
I've seen lots stars do audiobooks and dramas, so it's not like this is something that nobody does.

Yeah, that's part of why I don't really do regular one narrator audio books, that kind of thing bugs me.

This probably doesn't truly belong here, but I made myself a Watch Order for a casual rewatch of The Clone Wars that is largely based on the official Chronological Order but completely omits the episodes "Cat and Mouse" and "The Hidden Enemy" in favor of beginning the entire enterprise with the The Clone Wars movie.
