All things RED Dwarf

That is great news!
Back to the quotes:

Kochanski: What are you doing? Get off me!

Krysten: The Heimlich Maneuver ma'am, I believe it helps women stop crying.

Kochanski: The Heimlich Maneuver is to stop people from CHOKING you idiot!

Kryten: No, I think you're wrong.

Kochanski: I'm not wrong! You've just got a corrupted file in your database!

Kryten: Well then, why have you stopped crying?

Kochanski: Well it's really hard to cry when someone is doing the Heimlich maneuver on you. It really puts you off.

Kryten: But you're not crying, though.

Kochanski: Well, no.

Kryten: So it worked!

Robert ‘Kryten’ Llewellyn let slip on a live stream this week that they’re filming a new 90 minute special in October
Let's not skip over this great news to keep an endless quote thread going. I was just thinking about this last week wondering if they were doing anymore. Can't wait!

This will be the first new Red Dwarf thing thats come out since I watched the whole series for the first time a year or so ago, so I'm definitely excited.

I wonder, assuming it’s being penned by Doug, if there’ll be any small digs at the Red Dwarf: Titan prequel Rob’s working on.

Also..,

I’ve no fish to embarrass you further, I’ll see myself trout.

Holly: "That's a load of tottenham that is. That's a steaming pile of hotspur" Most people would get the point of that one, but I wonder how a football club was made to be the butt of a joke. Was the team really bad in the 80's?

Maybe Rob or Doug were fans of the club and wanted to sneak in a reference.

I'm just glad they didn't slam Liverpool. That would have offended me greatly.

I reckon Lister is 100% Liverpudlian if that helps.

im way out of the loop. I’m assuming both are now planning to make competing red dwarf shows? I’d guess that Doug has the og actors…what is rob doing?

Perhaps competing in the sense that they’ll be working on them separately. But as they both still hold interest in Grant Naylor, they’d both have an interest in the others success from a financial stand point. I don’t know if their animosity means they’d chip off their noses to spite their faces.

Rob announced a while back that he’s working on a prequel set in Titan, which would also feature the original cast in cameos (perhaps framing the prequel as a flash back).

Whereas Doug, it seems, is working on the further adventures of the original cast.

Thanks for the update

I have a question about future echoes:
If Red Dwarf was travelling at a set speed for three million years, shouldn’t it be close to earth after travelling at light speed, even if it was travelling at light speed for only a few hours?

No, because they hadn't turned around yet (Lister mentions it in the episode)

Riight. I forgot about that.
Why wouldn’t they turn around and then hit light speed? Wouldn’t that make more sense? Then again we are talking about Holly
