All species feel passage of time the same way?

There are species in Star Trek that live short of long lifespans when compared to humans.
I wonder, in order to make thing "equal" and "fair", might different species feel the passage of time differently?
Comparing the lifespan of Ocampa and Vulcans doesn't seem fair, less than 10 years compared to 200 or so years like in the case on Sarek.
Might a year for example feel shorter or longer depending on the species?
Has this ever been talked about, I don't remember....

For humans it feels shorter or longer depending on our age. A 2 year old is twice as old as a 1 year old.

When we are young the days are so long we have to take a nap in the middle of the day just to get through. That vacation to Disney or wherever seems like an eternity when it's only a month away.

When we get older the days begin to fly. You blink and 20 years have gone by. I swear I just watched NEM 10 or 15 years ago, what do you mean it was 21 years ago?

I think how we perceive time is greatly based on our age. When you are 20, 10 years is half your life. When you are 60, it's only 1/6 of your life.

So for Ocampa, time might feel slower than it does for a Vulcan.

There's an old Family Circus cartoon where the oldest child (Billy) says: "I've been around for seven years, and it feels like forever." His mom then says: "It's gone by very quickly for me."

If humans of varying ages sense the passage of time differently, than it stands to reason that alien species should as well.

Why the feeling of time should be "equal" or "fair" on different species ?
There is no socialism in the Universe, there is only in some people's imagination.

I don't get why the universe would be or needs to be "fair".

Our perception of time is easily altered anyway. A day of fun will pass quickly, and a day-long lecture on a boring subject will feel like an eternity.

Proof that Einstein not only understood the ins and outs of the universe like few others before or since, but he could also put together a pretty decent soundbite.

I still need an afternoon nap, tho. :)

I've read novels with species that exerience time differently, tho I can't recall authors or titles right now. There was one with an immortal species encountered who we could barely perceive moving, as they traveled the galaxy.

Well, there's wink of an eye (artificially sped up species, but in our time frame, if I recall correctly), and blink of an eye (living in a different time frame altogether) so I'm not sure either of those would qualify.

Then, there's Data 'for an android, 0.68 seconds is nearly an eternity' - but perhaps he doesn't qualify as species?

PULASKI: "Forgive me, Mister Data. I'm not accustomed to working with non-living devices that... forgive me again. Your service record says that you are alive. I must accept that."

I would say yes.

About the equal and fair thing I mentioned in the first post.
I'd like to think we're all treated equally no matter what but obviously the universe doesn't work that way.
