I would like to know what everyone thinks of "All Good Things".

Do you really think it was a fitting end to the series?

    -My Opinion-

I personally don't think it finished the story. Also, even though my name implies differently, I thought the Q story was kind of...not well written.

I didn't really understand the episode and think there was probably a thousand better ways to end the series.

It was a descent episode, just not as the finale.

    So what do you think?

I thought it was a fitting tribute to the series on the whole, an excellent 'bookend', while not being excessively 'final' about anything. I also think the story is an ingenious piece of sci-fi, and I get genuine goosebumps during the scene when Picard pieces the puzzle together.

Quite honestly, I couldn't ask for a better finale. It's utterly fantastic. "The sky's the limit..."

I think it is the best final out of any trek series. All Good Things acts as a kind of wrapper for the entire series.

All Good Things... is an excellent ending. It has an imaginative time travel concept, and the conclusion of sorts to Q's trial from Encounter At Farpoint brought the series full circle. I think DS9 comes in a very close second. The rest were either medicore (Endgame), gave a poor send-off to the series (These Are The Voyages...) or wasn't supoosed to a finale at all (Turnabout Intruder).

I think its a good ending, but DS9's WHAT YOU LEAVE BEHIND is by far the best ender...IMO..

Yeah, DS9 had a good ending too. Although I prefer the actual plot of All Good Things more, What You Leave Behind had an excellent farewell to the characters, not to mention that beautiful final shot of DS9 combined with the theme music.

Personally, I think it's not only a good finale, but the best. And The Next Generation is not even my favorite Trek series ...

I liked it enough to watch it about a hundred times. I think it was well fitted to the series as a whole.

What in the world did you not understand about the episode, if you don't mind my asking?

I think it's an amazing finish, second only to DS9's What You Leave Behind. It brings the one big arc of the show to a close, manages to have every main cast member have a decently important role, and do something unique with an honestly played-out device (time travel). I think there are Q episodes that are less than stellar, but this wraps up his arc beautifully and has a great send-off for all the regulars. In particular, I will always love the card game at the very end of the episode.

It's my all-time favorite series finale. I, too, am curious about what you didn't understand about it.

I thought it was the best Trek finale out of all the series and it is one of my favorite episodes of the show as well.

Not only is it one of the best episodes of TNG, not only is it one of the best episodes of Star Trek period, not only is it the best finale of any Trek series, but it is quite possibly the best final episode of any television show ever.

I thought it was brilliant. To this day it gets me right *here*.

Wrapped up the series, made a wonderful arc, was just everything it needed to be. Bravo sir... Bravo.

I think it was the best of the finales. One has to remember that it was a series with no continuing story arc like DS9, or even VOY (getting them home.) I think they did a great job, also knowing that they were about to start filming the new movie.

Frankly, this episode was SO good that it caused a major problem: It wrapped up the show so well that the movies couldn't rise to meet the bar of quality this set.

Maybe there shouldn't have been TNG movies and just end it with this, and the other characters making recurring appearances on DS9 or something.

Even though I enjoy some of the TNG movies to varying degrees, I tend to agree with this. AGT was such an excellent way to end the series that anything after-the-fact feels tacked on. If they had found a way to make Q the antagonist of the final Trek movie (and turned that particular story in something of a trilogy with Farpoint and AGT), I would have been very pleased.
