Spoilers - Alien Earth (2025 Hulu show)
The first 2 episodes are out, gonna watch them as soon as I can. Please go ahead and discuss! I didn't wanna make separate threads for each episode, so the poll is for the entire season, and you can adjust your vote as more eps come out. The trailers all looked great, so I can't wait to get home...

Finally watched Killer of Killers and I loved every minute of it.
The Shield and The Sword were both excellent but I would give The Sword the edge (no pun intended) as my favorite, while The Bullet was fun but clearly the weakest of the three. I loved how the film concluded with the three of them (begrudgingly in Ursa's case) were forced to work together in order to escape the gladiator arena. The overall stories are straightforward but I liked the running theme of strong familial ties for each of the lead characters, with two of them losing loved ones in their respective fights against the Predators.
As for the big reveal at the end, I was unfortunately spoiled somewhere about Dutch appearing in some fashion (although I somehow thought Arnold reprised the role in a vocal capacity) so I was already primed for Naru's reveal (but I still took joy in realizing it would be her before it was clear). That said, I was still surprised when Mike Harrigan was also revealed.
I see some people have complained about this film feeling like a Part One but I disagree. The film has a strong narrative structure that ends naturally with Ursa's sacrifice to allow Kenji and Torres to escape with the Predators hot on their heels for a new hunt. I would call that a great open-ended conclusion that leaves the door open for a follow-up, but the immediate story doesn't necessitate a sequel. Do I want a sequel? Absolutely! But I don't think not getting one weakens the quality of the film's story.
I'm glad Trachtenberg is still planning to continue Naru's story and I welcome it in whatever form it takes, whether it's a standalone story, another animated anthology that ties with Killer of Killers, or a mega team-up that includes Dutch and Mike (whether or not it's animated or live action, but the former makes more sense for at least Glover's sake).

Not sure if this is the best place to comment, but I was bored and decided to watch Prometheus for the first time, and I really liked it, both as a standalone Sci-Horror story and as the kickoff/Prelude to this franchise. I do wish that the story had made David's motivations in doing the things that he did a little bit clearer, but, at the same time, the murkiness is in line with the overall Sci-Horror aesthetic of things.

This news pretty much cements it in concrete that the Alien IP.is a series of self-contained sub-franchises because it's almost a guarantee that this new movie is going to ignore Alien Earth.
There is also Alien Romulus 2 in the development phase, and he talks about it.
I just finished watching Alien: Covenant, which was really interesting both as a traditional horror story and as a sequel to Prometheus. The repeats of beats, gags, and sequences from that movie evoked similar beats and moments from The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, but without feeling repetitive or unneeded.
The movie using David as a full-on villain also helped recontextualize some of his behavior and actions in Prometheus.
The ending was a bit of a downer, especially because it was so open-ended, but still worked for the most part.
Now, it's on to Alien at some point next weekend.

Romulus already 'ignored' Alien Earth by being made first. Logically speaking the mere idea of Romulus getting a sequel -- something already bandied about when it was released -- wouldn't, in theory, necessarily weigh in on the canonicity question any more than Romulus in isolation does.
Also? Isn't Romulus 2 the movie he is talking about not directing?
