So I thought this series takes place after 'Alien' but now see it takes place 2 years before 'Alien' (After Prometheus/ 16 years after Covenant). Wonder how all that will work out and how much of it connects or leads into Alien.

Just keep in mind that they've said it will be ignoring Prometheus and Covenant.
