Alien, Predator, AvP (news)

From an accuracy and authenticity POV, that would definitely be a cool thing to do, but it would likely turn off most movie-goers having to read subtitles through an entire movie.

Perhaps with today's audience, but it didn't turn off audiences from "Dances with Wolves." Granted that mixed English AND Native language, but still..

Agreed. That was a great movie, but with today's audiences with their seemingly gnat-like attention span, it likely wouldn't do well if it were released now. More's the pity... :(

It's also a different type of movie - more in the direction of summer blockbuster and one prerequisite is usually that you have to turn your brain off. Dances With Wolves is not that kind of movie and it works there to enhance the story and movie.

What’s the likelihood of merchandise being made for this movie?
Since Neco, we had no Yautja ship collectible.

I would assume that Eaglemoss would be the top contender for anything of an Alien/Predator nature, and they've already done a number of ships from the Alien(s) franchise. But, yeah, it would be high-time to do at least one of the variants of the Pred ship design.

Damn, that actually looks pretty damn good. I loved Amber Midthunder in Legion so I'm thrilled she's the lead here!

I agree it's a shame Comanche isn't the lead language. But almost the entire cast are Native or First Nation people, so baby steps.

Oh I didn't realize that was her, it's nice to see her getting a lead role.

Yeah, I do agree about the Comanche language, but this just isn't going for the kind of audience that's going to go to a subtitled movie. There is an audience out there for that kind of thing, I watch a lot of subtitled foreign movies and shows, but it's not necessarily the kind of people who are going to go to a Predator movie.
Sadly the movie already is going to have a bit of a tough time drawing in some people, since it's focused on Native Americans, with a mostly Native cast and, while making it in the Comanche language would be cool from an authenticity perspective, that would probably be a step to far for a lot of people.

From what I've seen it's biggest hurdle might be with people who for some reason can't stand the idea of a woman taking on a Predator.
Which is just stupid, there is absolutely no reason for that kind of attitude.

Her being woman is immaterial. It’s her tech I don’t see beating it.
Must be a pretty weak Yautja. :)

This was 300 years ago, so the Yautja probably isn't as advanced too.
I love the idea of a more primitive group taking on the Predator, this should hopefully lead to some more unique and interesting ways of dealing with it, since they can't just pull out bigger guns.

I think the Yautja tech would be more or less the same here. They’re quite a ancient race.
My guess is that she gets hold of some of his weaponry and uses it against him.
