We shall see. I must say, the sequel has been announced a while back, and nothing since. But that CAN actually be a good thing. Meaning they are taking their time and not rushing it. This was discussed recently when it comes to The Batman sequel. I'd rather they'd take their time and make it good, then rush it.
And, as much as I love Alien, Prometheus and Covenant (I know what's coming now), Ridley needs to not try and control this. I know he keeps saying he will make his new trilogy complete, but he's been saying that for a while now.
I'd rather just move on and accept the connections to P&C we got in Romulus and perhaps keep that going and move on than him stalling a sequel to Romulus because 'hey, you know, maybe, if I feel like it, and whatever, I'll do that sequel to Covenant'.

I think I'm the only person who hated Alien Isolation. I tried playing through it twice, and gave up on the same part both times. Never even got to the Alien stalking bits that were the selling point of the game, because I couldn't freaking get past the gun wielding human bandits! And even when I stealth-KOd some, the game wouldn't let me pick up and use the guns they had just been shooting me with! I've beaten just about every Soulsborne game I can think of, but Alien Isolation just wasn't fun for me.

There are mods that change the config files to give you unlimited overpowered revolver ammo, or let the alien or synths ignore you. That way you can enjoy the atmosphere, designs, story, with muss less frustration
