Anyways.. While I find I am REALLY enjoying the show I am also finding that the more I see Sydney the more anoyed with her I become. She's self centered, selfish and basically a spoiled brat that often does REALLY stupid things that should get her and others killed.

I disagree. From what I recall of the first two seasons (my favorite of the show BTW), I didn't get that opinion of Syndey at all. If anything she was a woman who was living under constant danger, constant fear of being found out and eliminated by Sloan. Plus she was having to grapple with the fact that her family life had been a lie, etc.

Sydney isn't perfect but she is far from a spoiled brat. She has always risked her life for her loved ones whether they are spies or civilians.

I too have to disagree with the OP. From the first episode Syd is operating out of a sense of betrayal and eliminating an evil, not from a sense that "I deserve this". While she struggles to keep her personal life from collapsing into her secret life, I don't see that as bratty or spoiled. And as Joe W. says, she always works to protect her friends and loved ones.

The first two seasons of Alias were genius and the scrambling up of the premise twice (the end of SD-6, and the 2-year jump) were amazing, but it is a shame that the whole series wasn't as even. The Chris Carter-style mythology juggling was weak, but I did like the ending. I think I should go back and watch the series again sometime.

Headstrong? Yes. Knows what she wants? Sure. Chip on her shoulder? Deffinitely. Her boss kills the man she loves. Her mother betrayed her at a young age. Her father trained her to become a spy from childhood. She's got issues all right. Spoilt brat? Nope.

It would help if you gave examples of her being a spoiled brat since I don't recall her acting like that at all. She was very driven for sure, had parental issues up the wazoo but spoiled? I just don't recall that at all.
