News Alec Baldwin Accidentally Shoots & Kills Cinematographer, Wounds Director with Prop Gun

4) Check the cylinder makes how much difference? can they tell live round vs. dummy round? the person who brings live round is the person who really should be responsible. And that should Seth Kenney

I wouldn’t expect Baldwin to know this, but a live round has a rounded lead bullet at the front of the round.
Blanks just have the front end crimped together (with no lead projectile)
The first thing these actors should have to do is take a basic firearm handling course from a competent professional; ideally from someone who is ex military.
If you have been trained to handle firearms it is not that difficult to check the cylinder.
If you do not know how to check the cylinder, ask someone who knows.
This is basic firearm safety. If you do not know how to handle a firearm either get training, or do not handle firearms.
It’s that simple.

2 quick thing:

Honestly, I can't see an average person can understand the above gun safety with confidence that a gun is using live or dummy round. The entire incident is caused by the lack of safety management of the ENTIRE Hollywood. They see the Brandon Lee death as a 1 off, and never bother do anything to remove real gun on a set until this happen. A lousy guess would be that since this incident, no production will be using real guns.

Now on a different subject, I don't understand the civil lawsuit, at CNN, this case is settled back in 2022. See first link, so why did Gloria Allred said the lawsuit is in the earlier stage in July 2024?

it depends on how many % of Hollywood people such as Dwayne "The moron" Johnson uses real gun on the set. All it takes is human error w/ the right kind of circumstance

Oh well. As long as one person gets to learn a lesson with a pathetically short sentence, I'm happy. ;)

that I absolutely agree. It would bring back bad memory for Halyna's mother. It's sad that it's a 1 2 punch for her entire family, first Halyna dies, and then her family stuck at the war

I think he should have convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
However, if the prosecution did withhold information, then the blame fallls on them. If the prosecution did mess up the case, then he (Baldwin) should be released from all charges.
The prosecution should have done a better job.

Except there are dummy bullets used in filming that are empty cartridges with a real lead bullet, to simulate the look of a loaded revolver cylinder when seen from the front.

I believe those bullets are not lead, but wax (for safety).
I could be wrong

As I stated on the previous page, Baldwin pulled the trigger (or held it back and either pulled back the hammer, or “fanned” the hammer. It was a single action pistol. It cannot fire otherwise).
The armorer should also be charged, since she was responsible for giving him a “cold” gun.
But ultimately, Baldwin pulled the trigger, and is also responsible.
